Well said.

It's just that the percentages are so out of whack. As a society we have to figure out why that is. But that means acknowledging there's a problem and having some very real but very difficult conversations about it.

I think the more important question is when is Alejandro in charge of a meeting and why would Alejandro be mad about the meeting starting late?

Hood culture has affected whites and locally, natives. Weird how people try so hard to emulate it.

This is a really terrible and troubling statistic.

We can acknowledge that the break down the of the black family didn't just "happen" ex nihilo. Historical racism and Jim crow laws need to be recognized.

Liberals in particular need to recognize the damage welfare laws did as well. The eligibility requirements for AFDC actually discouraged two parent households. It was all done with good intentions. That affected blacks and poor whites.

And I don't know of a direct correlation, but I am sure the War on Drugs didn't help. It's hard to be father when you are in jail for a non-violent narcotics crime.

ALL THAT SAID- this has to be recognized as one of, if not THE biggest problem facing the country. It is a huge problem for the African American community, but reaches to all groups. It is the root problem to many other more noticeable problems. It is an obstacle to education which leads to all other advancement.

And if a solution can be found, the nation needs to support it even if it costs more money in the short-term. But let's face it, this is mostly a cultural problem (now). It will take cultural leadership to fix.
