That's not the issue. The GOP has issues when Trump is not top of the ballot. There is a turnout gap of about 10-17 points historically from presidential elections and midterms.

I just got out of jail today. It was nice to see you thinking of me the last two months. 
I know you think there is some manufactured divide, but people are legitimately upset right now and feel betrayed. Hopefully, Trump can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get this done this week.

I think it's pretty silly. MAGA is shifting regardless. Things will change with Trump sunsetting (at least in official capacity).
Trump is seeing the next century field and making some bold calls, and if they go reasonably well, I don't think him being the no wars guy is going to be some stumbling block to future MAGA-ish support.
