One would think... but I'm sure they have some protection of one kind or another- and there's always a friendly judge... Boasburg...

So Pravda propagandists don’t want to have to explain what it is they do to a new boss.

Color me shocked.

I've been at my company 13 years and send an email summary to my manager everyday explaining what I did or worked on.

The only people who have an issue with this are the people not doing anything.

What kind of shitty managers don’t even know what their staff does at work? What a shite show.

Staffers from the network’s news division have until Tuesday to explain what they do during working hours to their new boss, editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, but the Writers Guild of America East, which represents some CBS News employees, has urged staffers not to respond

This is all just pandering though, don’t you agree? Why would this be public if it were legit?

She's been in the business long enough that she knows what the answers should be, she's seeing how that compares to the answers she's given.

Bari Weiss

She won’t put up with any shite. She loathes liberal legacy media. She got bullied away from the NYT. She started her own media company and has $15 million subscribers. CBS bought her company for &150 million as part of her deal.

Most probably fill the DEI requirements with a certain percentage of special contacts of deep state to filter “news”

Wouldn’t work output indicate what people do at work? This is just micromanaging for political points.

I'm not sure if I understand the question, cubs. Pandering by who?

It actually makes great sense for a new boss to review organizational charts, and then to approach employees, ask them to delineate what they actually do on a daily basis, compare that result to the organizational chart. It's a way to rapidly gain grasp on efficiencies and inefficiencies within the organization which are not immediately evident in an organizational chart review.

Employees refusing to provide that information would obviously register as a red flag, and were I the "CBS boss," everyone of those individuals would be on the chopping block as soon as I could lineup quality replacements.

The actual article points out she's also asking them what they're most proud of in their body of work and what they feel is and is not working in the business.

She's asking for their input... as a new Boss. Oh, the horror!

quote:

On Friday, she sent a note to CBS News staffers asking each member of the organization to detail what they do, and what they believe is working or not working, by Tuesday.

"I want to understand how you spend your working hours — and, ideally, what you’ve made (or are making) that you’re most proud of. I’m also interested in hearing your views on what’s working; what’s broken or substandard; and how we can be better. Please be blunt — it will help me greatly," Weiss wrote.

"I’ll read all of them carefully. And they will be held in the strictest of confidence. Then I’ll use your memo as a discussion guide for when I meet with most of you (ideally, all of you if time permits) in the coming few weeks," she continued. "The goal is simple: I want to familiarize myself with you — and I want you to do the same with me — to know that we are aligned on achieving a shared vision for CBS News."

She’s copying Elon Musk publicly to score points with the president.

And you consider telling staff to explain what they do at work in an email to be what you just described?

Sure. Just as you would with any corporate announcement.
