Fox News is saying Trump is going to be arrested next week. That seems a step up from being indicted. Is it?

Stormy Daniels testifies on Avenatti: ‘He lied to me and betrayed me’

CNN

Stormy Daniels, an adult-film actress who was allegedly defrauded by Michael Avenatti, testified Thursday in federal court as part of the criminal trial against the celebrity attorney.

Daniels testified that Avenatti said he was going to get “a big payday” from winning her lawsuit against then-President Donald Trump and a crowd funding legal defense fund they set up would also cover his costs.

“He lied to me and betrayed me and broke my trust, and I thought he was my friend,” Daniels said.

Stormy Daniels on Trump lawsuit: 'I have nothing left to lose'

Prosecutors allege that Avenatti – who helped negotiate the $800,000 advance for her September 2018 book “Full Disclosure” – defrauded her by instructing her literary agent to send two of the four installments of the book advance totaling nearly $300,000 to an account controlled by him, rather than directly to Daniels.

He allegedly sent a fabricated letter to the agent with a manufactured signature from Daniels redirecting book advance payments from Daniels’ account to another account he controlled without her knowledge, prosecutors say.

Avenatti told her the publisher mailed a check for the second book advance payment to his office and so he had a check submitted to her account, Daniels testified Thursday.

Trial evidence shows email correspondence in which Avenatti switched the routing information with the literary agent to an attorney-client trust account he controlled by allegedly fabricating her signature.

Daniels testified that Avenatti never told her about the trust account and did not sign any documents approving those transactions.

Prosecutor Robert Sobelman methodically went through months of text messages between Daniels and Avenatti in which she repeatedly asked him about the status of her third book advance payment for nearly $150,000.

In text messages, Avenatti told Daniels he was “working on it” and suggested to her the publishing company was withholding money from her because she hadn’t met her publicity requirement for the book.
After she testified her affair with Trump was all a lie she took it back...

I've stopped keeping up with this nonsense, but I checked the link and it's about the Stormy Daniels stuff. Are we really back to this? Stormy Daniels is what they have?

It is so far gone in America that this three people familiar arrest rumor is political. A fear tactic because they don't want Trump to run. How sick is that?
quote:

Reality check: Former Manhattan prosecutor Mark Pomerantz warned in his new book that if Bragg chooses to pursue that complex strategy, there is "a big risk that felony charges would be dismissed before a jury could even consider them."

Driving the news: Trump defense lawyer Joe Tacopina on Tuesday essentially dared Bragg to pursue charges.

"[I]f they bring this case, I believe this will catapult him into the White House," Tacopina said on MSNBC, his latest in a string of media appearances after the New York Times reported that Trump is likely to face charges soon.
Trump has promised to stay in the race if he's indicted, telling reporters ahead of his CPAC speech this month: "I wouldn't even think about leaving. Probably it will enhance my numbers."
He has a point: Polls suggest Trump received a boost among Republican voters after the FBI's search for classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, and after his first and second impeachments.

Remember what Ronna said campaigning for her appointed Chairwoman of the GOP position? Only she can stop Trump from running third party.

If they indict Trump and the GOP establishment announces Trump can't run. What do you think happens next? Remember the polls/survey from a large amount of people saying they are on to the GOP and are downright pissed off that Turtle went against republicans to spite Trump.

I think we will finally be free in a legit party and we could demand representatives that represent us and not themselves. I think a lot of the former BernBots via Jimmy Dore and Glenn would join us.

And then I woke up...

Somewhere around 2/3rds to 1/2 of the party do not support re-nominating him.

You are pulling numbers out of your arse.

I was fricking with you by doing the same.

You hate Trump…cool.

Stating that 2/3 of the base feels like you is silly.

You do you though.

The Republican Party will not win a general election again in this country

Fixed it for you.

2024 is a test case for this axiom. GOP voters will come to their senses and nominate DeSantis, a formidable candidate who in normal times could actually beat Biden and the Democrats. But, on cue, Trump's paper-thin id will never allow this. He'll declare third party, wresting millions of MAGA crazies to his camp, blowing up the republicans. The final outcome: Biden wins a 51 state landslide.

Without getting into the discussion about how our electoral system works, do you believe Desantis would have ended up with more total votes than the 81 million number that they said Biden got?

DeSantis was still developing as a governor in 2020-- still a political neophyte, though he proved mostly right in regard to COVID policy.

No I don't think he could have gotten 81,000,000 votes in 2020. He wasn't yet well known outside Florida, and the right wing was still hung up on their Trump fixation.

I was afraid of that answer. Let me set the scenario a little better. If you plucked Desantis at this very moment, or even 6 months from now if he keeps the same trajectory he’s on at this very time, if you plucked and dropped that Desantis into the 2020 election - where does that Desantis stand after the dust settles?

Everything seems to indicate Desantis has more upside potential than Trump, who has an ardent, fervid base but very little potential to expand that base.
