Although this board wants to cancel the NBA, it appears viewership isn’t hurting in the least.
(Your granny’s voice) Oh, that’s nice. Lol

Lsu- Bama had 11.54 million viewers last year. Let that sink in. The nba is crap.

A novel start to a novel season beats the average of a boring MID SEASON rating ???
ROFLMAO!!!
NBA = dead.

A thrilling showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers drew 3.4 million total viewers
So LA watched both their teams play...

I stopped watching the NBA when Karl Malone left the Jazz.

All politics aside, I would be nervous if I were invested in the NBA.

It’s been over 4 months of no NBA, yet they’re comparing the television ratings to a regular season game as if nothing happened lol.
It’s been over 4 months and they only drew 3.4 million lol
“But! But! But! That rating is like double what a regular season game #56 of the season on a Tuesday night would be!!!”

Yup. These ratings should be comparable to other times when only one game is on like the finals or maybe a holiday. Anyone got comps for those?

What is this NBA you speak of?

It’s the first game but I’d expect they will be strong given it’s basically the playoffs and fans that would otherwise attend have to watch on tv. Next season is when things will get interesting.
I agree with most your statement other than fans who would have attended. Most nba arenas hold less than 30k people. That equates to less than 1% of viewership.

It’s the first night back after a three month break. Of course the ratings were high. I bet the media won’t pump those numbers next week.

The NBA returned on Thursday night to bumper TV ratings for TNT. A thrilling showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers drew 3.4 million total viewers, more than doubling the network's average viewership for a regular season telecast.
So the ratings jumped from turrible to bad. Congratulations to them I guess.

There's a lot of idiots in this country. Even more than 3.4 million.

Basketball is ball far the most boring sport ever invented. I would rather watch to old guys play chess at a nursing home.
Screw the NBA, but basketball is nowhere near the most boring sport out there. Moronic statement.
