I don't even think the glorious and pure Thomas Massie ever seriously mentioned it.

literally everyone under 30 I know has zero fiscal restraint whatsoever. They're all drinking $8 coffees, door dashing constantly, never eat at home, save nothing, charge everything and constantly whine about expensive everything is and that life's unfair. You really think these morons are gonna save money for 40 friggin years in order to have financial security when they're old?

Wasn't the money initially in its own fund, then politicians decided the wanted that money and voted to add it to the general fund? Do I have that correct?

Entire government at every level is a Ponzi scheme full of corrupt incompetent grifters.

You will when the boomers are gone. Gonna have to work with Z and all the other generations to get it done.

it's called planning and being successful. I never even considered SS as part of my retirement plan. I don't need it - but will use it to cover my monthly hunting/fishing and country club dues. Thanks for your continued pay in and support.

No, that’s not correct.

The mean age for voting Americans is mid-fifties. Social Security is safe for at least a decade.

Will be retired and out of country long before then. Still, Xers do not have the numbers to override anything millennials vote for. Just like we never had the numbers to override the boomers.

Actually it was our parents, mostly our fathers who did that and defeated the Bushido Japanese.

Right? It should be so easy for the boomers, they built this country. Really looking forward to their continued contributions to society.

This has echoes of Gaucho, well done!

Isn't paying into it the most critical part of a ponzi scheme?

I don't know if people here are old enough to understand the reference.
But it reminds me of check kiting back in the day.

The boomers, by definition, weren't even born until after WWII.
sheesh.

Actually I do as most of them are family and the rest are their friends. You think doordash went from basically nothing to a nearly 20 billion dollar a year company over the last decade because those evil old people are paying people to deliver their food? You may wanna check those demographics again. But you are correct that most of them at least have access to a 401k but they arent utilizing it either at all, or enough to matter. I do preach to them about needing to do so whenever I can though so maybe it'll eventually happen.

So it was setup to fail from the beginning. Just not fail for a long time.
