Congress made an insurance contract with each of us. They simply cannot pass a bill to remove the benefits of that contract. They can deny future enrollment, but they simply cannot strip an entitlement from you Your benefits are guaranteed, and Nestor wont stand the test of time before future courts. Remember Roe v Wade, yeah like that
Yes they can
Welfare is an entitlement also - are people guaranteed that?
If they couldn’t take it from you there wouldn’t be a benefit cut coming in 6 years if nothing is done

Welfare is not a US Debt Obligation. Nor is Medicare.

You don't pay into welfare.

Of all the waste and grift in the Fed budget why start with screwing people that actually worked and payed into the system?
Because ss and Medicare are the only things that could be cut that would make a difference
Both Social Security and Medicare could be funded quite easily if all the waste, fraud and outright theft of US taxpayer dollars was eliminated. The government also doesn't need a $1.2 trillion defense budget. If the US got out of NATO and the ME we could easily drop the defense budget by 20-30% and probably a bit more.

possible way to reign in govt spending it to take a dump on old people, most of whom live exclusively on their meager sustenance level SS checks each month.
These people need be more frugal and stop spending money on the old person equivalent of avacado toast and DoorDash
Maybe sale some those 3-4 bedroom houses they live in they bought for $150k that can get 400-500k today

Not true
Also ss and Medicare are part of the waste and abuse

No it’s gone the minute it’s taken out
I bet if there was some fund for millenials or Gen Z that was about to run out of money this board or our politicians wouldn’t give a shite

You don't pay directly into welfare. You do directly pay into social security.

Totally disagree. We just had one ex CIA officer plead guilty to a nearly $200 million fraud portfolio. That's just one fricking person. Add in all the fraud within SS and Medicare and that alone is likely over $50-100 billion. Cut a few hundred billion from the defense budget and we're talking some serious money.
But you just keep posting, you're doing great.

Actually there is. Have you logged into your SS account? If not, you may want to try it. You will see your account number, every penny you've deposited into the system and you will see the government's obligation to you depending which age you choose to collect.
Your account analogy about the money being gone the moment you pay is asinine at best. You know what else is gone? Your paycheck the moment it is deposited into your bank account. The bank takes your money and invests it, loans it out to others, etc. the moment your employer deposits it. I'm guessing you expect the bank to adhere to its obligation when you decide to make a withdrawal. I'm also pretty sure you wouldn't be so edgy and cavalier if the banks said frick you we're keeping your money.
Finally, you should probably realize that, like you, everyone else here is pretty pissed that we have been forced to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars with a shitty ROI. However, unlike you, we are not Cucks, and are not ok with the Government backing out of its OBLIGATIONS!

SS has already been skimmed into little more than a scam. Horrible return on investment.

Obviously I agree that he is blaming the wrong people. I don't think it's about clicks, though. Matt isn't the type to just take any position because it's controversial. He just tends to take a very narrow view (at times) of the history of certain problems, but confidently tells it like it's common sense.
There's a lot that he gets right. I just think he's wrong about this.
I'm going to push back here. It's not about being "proud" of not going to college. He's defended the fact that he didn't go there because, for most people, it is at best useless, and at worst it's indoctrinating people into the mindless zombies we are seeing everywhere. I didn't go to college, either, will never go, and have no need to. There is nothing that college offers me that I can't do without a degree and thousands of dollars in debt. If I wanted to be a doctor, that'd be different, but then, how many doctors know anything other than just pushing drugs on people? So I don't agree with your particular example to suggest that Matt might be a "retard'.

You’re just selfish old assholes that have consistently voted for people/legislation that have ruined this country
And everytime the next generation starts talking about changing things you whine like little bitches

The govt is not a bank
It literally waste your money you give them everyday but your ilk keeps voting for the same kind of people so you can have your socialism when you retire

The average SS recipient receives about 2k a month. For more than half of them thats all they have to live on. Period. Fewer than half of them own their home outright. And even those that do still have to pay thousands a year in insurance, taxes, repairs and maintenance so who gives a #### (other than morons) what they paid for it years ago? And BTW, those houses with equity will get liquidated and used to pay for their last few years, which most will spend in some kind of managed care facility. The govt doesn't kick in a dollar for these facilities until their assets have been completely sold off, including that house you hate them for owning. So that house will prevent, or at least delay, taxpayers from paying for their care for those last few years. Of course I'm sure you'd rather they be put to sleep, Canada style, right?
And now that we've proven you have no clue what youre talking about, whats your plan for the 60% of retirees who either dont own homes outright or rent? I'm sure youre gonna have some more pearls of wisdom for us all. Perhaps more euthanasia?
The idiots out there pushing the propaganda that every old person is sitting on a mountain of cash and a home they paid 10k for in 1970 thats worth 2 million today are only letting everyone else know they have zero economic knowledge whatsoever with regards to today or anything else that's happened over the last 50 years.

I'm not really the least bit concerned that SS is going away, for several reasons.
But this is not one of them. Every time this subject comes up there are a few posters who lock on and proceed for all the world to post (usually) rants to the tune you're humming here and all I can think when scanning by them quickly is, "This is just a different flavor of sovereign citizen nonsense."
No offense.
But I just can't not see mental images of people being hauled out of their cars with license plates handwritten on cardboard on them screaming, "I'm not driving! I'm traveling! The law says DRIVING!"
Or one guy I knew who determined that income tax was unconstitutional and the government couldn't make you pay it and if you tapped your heels together three times and said, "There's no place like home," they'd have to let you go, so he stopped paying it.
Haven't seen him in quite a while and whenever he comes to mind I always wonder if the reason for that is that he's in federal prison.
