She called me last night to say that someone on her street was fined by their HOA for having a Trump flag and the entire street put them up in protest until the fine was rescinded.

I asked her how things looked out there and she was confident that not only Trump would carry AZ, but McSally as well. That being said, she lives in a very conservative suburb of PHX.

1) Shame on the HOA

2) Good for the residents doing what they did -- hope that they left them flying after the fine was rescinded

Awesome

They should be able to look up any restrictions on yard signs in the HOA Agreement

The great Rich Baris of People's Pundit Daily thinks that Arizona looks solid for Trump.

If you look at 2018, Kristen Synema BARELY won against a very weak candidate in McSally, and that was with days of sketchy ballot harvesting to put her over the top.

Comparing 2018 to 2020:

GOP has GAINED in registered voters in Maricopa County (I forget the number I think it was like 50,000).

TRUMP is much better candidate than McSally was in 2018

Biden is likely a weaker candidate than Synema was in 2018

Overall climate of electorate should be more Republican friendly than it was in 2018.

Either AZ as a whole or Maricopa County (I forget which) was +4 GOP registered voters in 2016. It had fallen to +2 GOP registered voters for 2018, but is now back to +2.75 GOP for 2020, giving both TRUMP and McSally a better cushion.

Most likely outcome is Trump wins and McSally comes up short again.

I live in Paradise Valley Arizona. I have multiple Trump and American flags flying in my neighborhood and I have yet to see 1 Biden bumper sticker all over Phoenix.

Does the HOA restrict political flags/signs? Are they letting others put up political flags/signs?

If you buy a house with the requirement to abide by HOA rules, you're obligated to abide by HOA rules.

One other difference in 2020 compared to 2018:

Republican controlled state will be much more on the lookout for shenanigans by the AZ state Democrats if they attempt to steal votes from Trump or McSally.

The Dems likely shot their wad in 2018 getting Synema over the top by hook or by crook. Would be karmic justice to see them foiled this cycle.

was it because it was Trump or because they don't allow it in general. Many subdivisions have that in their covenants.

That's why I nixed any house with an HOA when I picked my retirement home. I chose the forest instead. The wild animals try to rule but I've managed to work things out with them.

If the alleged trend of losing suburban women but gaining with Hispanics holds true, Arizona is one of the few states that might actually help Trump. I think it might be a positive in North Carolina as well (for Trump, not for Tillis).

I saw my first Biden sign in my area yesterday. I grunted and drove on by. Nothing like exercising my right wing privilege. Made me feel good.

My HOA only allows 1 sign or flag per candidate. I've got one of each, come & take it!

I'm not buying this story, unless the HOA has a strict rule on no signs of all kinds, but the OP makes it sound like they were singled out specifically due to the Trump sign.

They are everywhere here in North Dallas. Often side by side with "In this household, we believe..." and Collin Allred signs.
