The frick. No way there are that many taxpayers in our country. There is quite a large segment of the population that doesn't pay taxes.

I'd love a check but man, i thought this was all about paying down the debt. I think whatever savings are realized need to be put towards the deficit.

It's about winning the midterms and keeping a full grip on power to have all 4 years of unfettered progress and hopefully a 7-2 (theoretically, anyway) SCOTUS advantage during Trump 2.0.
I bet you these will be timed to hit in August 2026 or somewhere around then.
Would be cool to send $2k this August and another $3k next August.

That debt is never being paid off. It will be reduced a little.. but that's it. Trump can absolutely kick arse this term, but as soon as anyone else becomes president, they will focus on expanding the government again. They will focus on splurging on dumb shite again.
And if the next president is a Democrat, then.. everything trump and Elon did regarding spending and saving will be undone with a few days. A lot of money will again be thrown at people who pay no taxes.
With that mindset, I'm fine with taxpayers finally catching a small break and getting a little money back. Because god knows we're going to be paying even more in taxes with future presidents, whether we get a small check now or not.
