Western kids generally get two given names, and parents choose among thousands of names. Muslim kids get 3-4 given names. For boys, the name “Muhammad” is invariably one of them.
It is like the name “Jesus” in Latino culture. It may not be the name you USE every day, but there is about a 50% chance that it is ONE of the names on the birth certificate.
