It's not exactly comparing apples to apples, but I still like the symbolism of Pence's statement:
quote:

Pence has switched to campaign mode, ready with a list of achievements to brag on, led by economic wins since the coronavirus crisis crashed the administration’s earlier successes.

Topping that list is the jobs comeback — some 9.2 million since the pandemic hit the United States in March.

Pence said, “We’ve already created more jobs in the last three months than Joe Biden and Barack Obama created in their eight years in office.” During the previous administration, some 8.9 million jobs were created.

I don't think Biden is capable of building anything.

come on Russian. Obviously a good talking point but this is just a whiplash of the lost jobs due to forced shut down and the monetary easing and economy opening back up. New organic, innovative jobs have been created but nothing near a net gain compared to what was lost.

Why did you just ignore what I wrote at the top of my post?

Media will never report it though.

So after one of the worst job losses in US history, there was one of the greatest gains in US history. Not exactly something to Bragg about. Lol.

that's fair. I guess I just don't think "apples to apples" properly explains the situation.

why? doesn't even rhyme. I've never heard of that word but sounds like something you've been thinking of. Doesn't bother me at all if that's how you want to identify.

Yep.

Biden damn sure banked on those jobs not coming back and he is campaigning on the premise that he can bring them back.

It’s not apples to apples but it’s not like the Great Financial Crisis didn’t lose a lot of jobs thus giving Obama/Biden a chance to “create” a shite ton of jobs.

Considering everyone on the left was saying this was going to be an L shaped recovery (slow and gradual) instead of a V shaped recovery (massive gain in a short period), it is kind of a big fricking deal.

By contrast, Obama insisted that the stimulus would lead to a quicker recovery than without it then managed to put up worse job numbers than the worst case scenario laid out by his own team.
