Somehow he’s voting against the save act.

I’m embarrassed this is happening… why can’t republicans do better?

If I’m not mistaken, the public hasn’t heard his voice since on or before June 14th.

Senate Republicans (Most Consistent "No" Votes)The Senate has been the main bottleneck (due to the filibuster needing 60 votes). Four Republicans have repeatedly joined Democrats to block amendments attaching or advancing the SAVE Act in 2026:

Susan Collins (ME)
Lisa Murkowski (AK)
Mitch McConnell (KY)
Thom Tillis (NC)

I don't expect much from the GOP, but I fully expected the Trump Administration to start applying pressure, either overtly or unofficially through a leak. This is ridiculous. Shady, incompetent, or both.

Definitely embarrassing for the Senate Majority Leader to straight up ghost the entire country for six weeks. Shows us what the GOP thinks of its voters.

McConnell is not the majority leader anymore but still this is a very good example why term limits are needed as well as qualifications for being there

Yep…tomorrow is past the August 3rd deadline. But I do think they won’t make it so obvious. They may wait a few more days before announcing that either he has passed or no longer able to serve.

It's enough to wonder if the people are no longer being represented by their government, which it seems we are not, can we really consider ourselves a republic any more?

I think you hit the nail on the head, here.

GOP is one thing, but it’d be nice if Trump would shed some light.

August 3 ....Under the current law:

If a U.S. Senate vacancy occurs early enough, the governor must call a special election to fill the remainder of the term.

August 3, 2026 is the practical deadline for creating a vacancy that could still be filled in conjunction with the November 2026 election.

Doesn't this only happen if he has died? Remember congress critters said they had 20 minute phone convos with him.

I still dont understand KY rules on this. He is NOT running for re-election, is there no one running for his seat not tied to the CCP?
