carbon capture contracts.
How does this work exactly? Who is paying for this shite? What becomes of the captured carbon?

Really shouldn’t be a left or right issue. Same as alcohol.
Yeah, my only issue used to be the potential for doubling the amount irresponsible drunk/high drivers on the road.
But then the phone-related distracted-driver accidents were added, which far outnumber the percentage of drinkers & smokers combined on the road, so weed prohibition has a relatively weak case now.

I'm pretty staunchly conservative, I have no problem with the legalization of Marijuana. At this point in my life, I probably would still not partake, but I don't have an issue with other people doing it. I would prefer it not be done out in public, like is now done with cigarettes.

That's where I'm at, although some of the proponents are pretty disingenuous. Most of them talk as if this is a black and white freedom issue but when pressed have no problem drawing the line with other, more harmful drugs.

It's going to be an interesting thing to monitor over the next 5-10 years and see if States that legalized recreational marijuana begin shifting more Blue.
. . . or as states shift blue they legalize pot.
Cause and effect?
My guess would be it won't make any difference.

Smoking weed does not make someone a fricking liberal in 2024. What a ridiculous thought. It shouldn't be illegal and never should have been.

It's an incredibly boring drug
Used once in a while it makes everything hilarious. Everyday use kills that.

. I think the tropes about stoners and stoner culture came more from it being illegal and thus something to desire and fetishize.
The outlaw mythos runs deep in American culture.

The socio economic and political affects are still being explored.
Yup. The politicians just haven't yet figured out to add and apply taxes and 'fees' to it so they can add more money to their 'piss away', err, general fund...

Most users of Marijuana that I know are very conservative. If people think that liberals or left leaning people solely do Marijuana or that it will drive people left they are severely mistaken. Three couples in my family who are business owners all do Marijuana. They are all very conservative, and when the work day is finished, they go home, smoke a joint, relax and go to sleep. My cousin and her husband don't even drink ,and for them that is what they do to unwind. There are plenty of conservatives that do pot.

There is a documentary about this and how the lobbyists bought and paid for alcohol to be legal and pot to not be legal.
I don't care about pot being legal, but people should be held accountable for actions while smoking.
I don't want to be driving anywhere near someone who is doing both pot and alcohol.

It's definitely interesting to see how MO's legalization of recreational marijuana might shift the political landscape.
65 years old, began smoking weed when I was 14 and quit when I was 28/29. For the most part my political beliefs haven't changed all that much from the 70's, but the Dim/Groomer party has went off the rails, now I'm considered a conservative.

So, the takeaway is you have to be fricking retarded (either naturally or by use of pot) to vote Dem.
Not surprising.

Well, they’re gonna have to update that documentary. Because the lobbyist who pushed through legalized pot in Missouri has two Ferraris, a jet, a helicopter pad, a 4000 square-foot pool and a bunch of other shite at his tear down in Huntleigh.

I would say as a percentage, people who use drugs (not including alcohol) are likely voting Dim/Groomer.
