I don't either.
Why was it you brought stereotypes again?

A gummy or two is simply a sleep aid alternative. Nothing nefarious at all.

Ain't a blue vs. red thing. It's a freedom thing. Every argument against weed legalization can be made against booze.
Smell a rat when you find someone opposed to weed legalization who isn't also pushing equally as hard for the return of Prohibition.
ETA: I don't use marijuana, and I'm not much of an alcohol-drinker, either.

Conservativism should support less regulation, and more individual freedom.
Most people here are quasi conservative, not actually conservative. The weed trade is a great example of an illegal product that would greatly help the mainstream economy.

Precisely. This should be a layup for the right.

There are a lot of "govern me harder, daddy"/closeted authoritarians on the right these days. It's disappointing.

When more people started pulling their heads out of their binary asses.
Still a ways to go, though.

Yep, I think most conservatives support legalization.
shite, ALaska was one of the most conservative states, and has allowed people to grow their own for decades.

Don't overuse, no sweat. Why are conservatives concerned with people harming themselves if they choose?
Because there has been a counter movement for decades now of marijauna proponents claiming there are absolutely no negative consequences with weed.
There obviously are potential negatives when mistreated (as the poster you replied to described well) and there needs to be proper education for that now that it is becoming legalized more and more.
I’ll never forget a few years ago when first legal in Vegas, I was flying through there, and I decided to go to a dispensary and try something out. Stressed to the clerk that I was new to this, and asked him if there was anything I should steer clear of until I knew how I would react. He acted like none of it was a big deal, I would be good as long as I took small amounts, blah blah blah. Bought some cookies, ate about 1/3 of one as he suggested, and proceeded to have one of the worst days of my life….
Edibles are clearly not for me, and as Ive since learned they are basically a complete different drug than if you smoked it. But you need responsible people in the business and in the dispensaries educating people on these things, not stoners going “it’s all good man… nobody has ever OD’ed on weed bro!”

As long as St. Louis/Kansas City don't grow at the rate Denver and Atlanta have, Missouri will be fine.
Missouri is like Tennessee. They're becoming much more conservative. Tennessee has become much more conservative state wide despite Nashville's rapid growth.

Why does it matter?
Let people be uninformed as long as their dysfunction harms themselves.

Nah. You know why hippies are skinny. Because all that healthy stuff they eat that tastes like shite is a whole lot more palatable when your always stoned.

As a kicker alcohol is infinitely mire nefarious and deadly than marijuana

Ok and?
Too much red tape makes legal weed overly expensive, and discourages going legitimate.

Because maybe they don’t want to harm themselves, and better information out there would help prevent. If they have been misinformed their whole life that there is nothing to worry about, there are going to be mistakes that happen and we should try to prevent that as a society.

Nah, not a fan of nannyism.
My neighbor isn't my responsibility, neither is "society."
In fact, they loathe you.

We can do that without nanny state government laws RE: weed.
Whether it's weed, covid shots, alcohol, or anything in between, let adults do their own due diligence.
