There is a person on youtube that does videos of the people going on these trail hikes and dying all the time, many in one year.

Normal thing is going off trail and getting lost or hurt.

One person at a place and trail I walked in 1970 was only 100 feet off trail and fell down and hurt his leg and could not move and could barely be heard. They did not find his body for 15 years.

This is more common than many know.

That poor guy was soft beyond his Mom’s assessment. His face tells the truth, as usual usually the case. A fuss with mom and he throws a fit and gets in over his head.

That age is very precarious as any honest person with high expectations for life’s potential can really become confused. I was within an inch of bailing back then, and I was far from weak. Strength can become a weakness in particular dynamics.

I hope we all live many lives and become that which our accumulated wisdom and willpower then allows us to make an educated choice in who we truly want to be. He learned a hard lesson. We all do.

The Universe/God is perfect. We are playing catch up.

Until they specifically say how he died, suicide is the correct assumption.

Of course it's not.

There's no reason whatsoever to assume that.

Chances are much greater that he either ran into the wrong people or just encountered something out in the woods that killed him IMO.

Probably fell. That's why they couldn't find him.

You don't run "into the wrong people" too much in Japan. Not like you would in south Chicago or Skid Row in LA.

I think it's safe to say suicide until they tell us otherwise.

There are forests in Japan (one particularly infamous) where folks to to end it all.

Do tell. What's the evidence for that?

Or alternatively, just take the L for saying something stupid and tripling down on it.
