I think there are a LOT of people who would be very surprised to discover just how many liberals (and even true Leftists) are in our military. It has changed very significantly since the 1990s/2000s. Bill Clinton got that ball rolling with "Don't ask, don't tell."
Good cannot compromise with Evil even the least bit. Every time Good compromises with Evil, Evil comes out the victor. We have told the slipery slope leading to this is an unreasonable reaction, but it has proven true every single time.

You have to wonder about the "all enemies foreign and domestic" phrase in the oath. In this now stupid country a rogue political movement could infiltrate (Bernie Sanders) and overtake a long time political party and work to overthrow the government by winning "legitimate" elections. Anybody war gamed this out?
