It just amazes me how the President wins large and the House wins very small. Amazing!!

I'm not a fan of Johnson, but this will be a telling moment to see if Republicans can stick together for the greater good and trust in Trump's plan.

I believe that Trump knows better than I do what he needs to have in place to achieve his goals.
I voted for Trump and will trust his judgement.

Any Louisianians calling for Johnson’s removal need to be expelled from Louisiana

And yet you still can’t list a single way Louisiana has benefitted or wielded power with Johnson as speaker.

I live in Louisiana.

frick Mike Johnson. He hasn't done a single positive thing for the state or the country since he has been the speaker. All he has done is backtrack on his core fricking beliefs since day one.

It didn't help him to be making public appearances with Trump and guys like Kid Rock and Dana White, while looking like a total stuff being dragged around as punishment.

I don't know Mike and maybe he actually is a decent person IRL, but he has certainly played the politics game to appease "both sides" (though those "sides" are just two sides of the same trick coin). I still say bring in James Woods as SotH.

Obviously he technically could do it as you don't have to be in Congress, but thinking someone in the Senate would not be feasible. Especially someone who is salivating at getting his teeth into Fauchi.

It's like how you are not required to be a cardinal to get elected Pope, but the realisticness of the elected body (College of Cardinals) not electing one of their own to the post is zero.

lol. Dumbass comment.

He’s only been speaker for a year In a hostile environment with a democrat executive in office. He won’t get much done and isn’t expected to at this point.

Over time, with the favorable lineup from Trump to Landry and Scalise, we have an unprecedented period of political power for a state that gets the short end of the stick time and time again thanks to short sighted, idiotic voters like people on this board including by not limited to you who represent the mindset but admit that you don’t even live here. Glad you’re gone.

I’m also glad Trump is supporting Johnson. Too bad for you though.

One thing we know- Louisiana is better off having Johnson as speaker. Get over it.

It's funny watching people say they support Johnson because Trump does.

Look at the record of Johnson. He's horrible.
Look at Trump's record of personnel selections. It's garbage.
Some of you refuse to learn.

Anyone saying there are no alternatives is weak as hell. That is why Republicans lose. "We have to compromise. We don't have options. We will never get anyone better." Pathetic mindset.

If Trump gets inaugurated and these stupid mfers on the far right hold up his agenda, they had better start seeking alternative employment opportunities in 2026

What exactly is a Speaker of the House supposed to accomplish with a 5 seat margin? Also Trump is taking even more people from House, so its 217 R 215 D for the first few months

As the party holding the White House, GOP is likely to lose the House in 2026 and the President is a lame duck.

in 2017, Trump had a 230 R House and still had to work with Democrats to

BS. Trump's agenda needs to include "limiting government". If it does then there shouldn't be a problem.
