Charges against lawyer was for leaking sensitive Dominion emails/documents.

I thought this administration was super duper serious about protecting whistle blowers.

Seems counter intuitive to their anti Trump whistle blower protections.

using the US Marshals to arrest someone arising from a bench warrant for a no-victim semi-crime is overkill and ridiculous, but I don't see any real conspiracy here.

Feel free to connect the dots for me.

And what you say she was arrested for...is it common for someone to be sought after and arrested for? It seems like some bs way to go after someone to such an extent, just like they're doing with Trump, lawfare. Although, her charge at least seems legit, it still stinks of bs as even you stated it was overkill.

So they arrested her in DC for a bench warrant in Michigan where she practices law?

I have no idea where she's been and if she's been in Michigan practicing in the open recently. Earlier in the month her new lawyer showed up at a hearing (without his client) and asked to rescind the warrant and the judge told him no, that she was still refusing to appear.

Obviously if there was ample opportunity to arrest her in Michigan in the last 2-3 weeks and she wasn't arrested, then it seems pretty theatrical. Of course, she is newly representing a client in DC in a high profile case, so perhaps she hasn't been that easy to locate (in Michigan) lately.

I think the original charges are probably semi-criminal (the Michigan ones). If you go and ask a clerk for a machine to test/examine and perhaps lie about your intentions and then end up giving it back after you screw around with it - is that a crime? Maybe, but it doesn't strike me as a very significant one and it certainly seems political to prosecute for.

If they'd sought to corrupt the machines for future elections, etc. it would be a different story. If they damaged a 10k machine in the process, ok, that's criminal (but again, mildly so).

As for the pursuit, I think it's political but within the bounds of what's normal. In a normal world they'd wait for her to get back to Michigan and arrest her. The charges are minor. I'm sure the process to us the marshals was normal, but probably something that got higher than the priority it deserved because of the context.

The Michigan special prosecutor would probably say she's had a bench warrant pending for a while, knew about it, had an attorney appear to talk about it, and yet took on a new case in DC instead of coming back to Michigan to deal with it. And that's a valid point, even if I think the entire saga is politically motivated.

This confirms that the emails are real, at least.

It's how we confirmed the Ashley Biden diary. They had to admit it was real in order to prosecute those who stole it.

It certainly was not for leaking documents in a civil case that has nothing to do with the Federal government.

Probably a bench warrant like someone said.

Even in the Gateway Pundit argument says it's for the bench warrant, they're just trying to connect it to her other activities for clickbait
