Brooklyn Manhole Mystery Deepens: Were These Underground Explorers or a Burglary Crew? UPDATE ??
I went back to the area today and started taking a closer look at what surrounds this location. One thing immediately stood out: there are numerous cash-heavy businesses nearby, along with a bank.
The more I dig into this story, the more questions I have.
Sources and video show that these individuals were underground for nearly two hours. They didn't appear to be random people fooling around. They came equipped with shovels, masks, and specialized gear to keep themselves dry while navigating below ground.
For those unfamiliar with New York City's underground infrastructure, some tunnel systems can stretch for miles and connect across boroughs. That raises an obvious question: What exactly were they doing down there for that long?
At this point, nothing has been officially confirmed, but the deeper I look into this incident, the more it resembles a crew that may have been preparing for something far more serious than a late-night adventure.
Two hours underground. Masks. Tools. Planning.
Something about this entire situation doesn't feel right.

Would love to know the ethnic profile of these individuals.

Did anybody think of calling the police or were they too busy holding their camera phone?

Any chance they might be urban explorers videoing content for a YouTube channel or something? Attempting to use the sewer for access?

I doubt any of those guys are named after renaissance artists.

They have no idea what they’re getting into; you almost have to feel sorry for the poor bastards.

I’m trying to find the politics in this so I can properly reply.

Liberals on X are telling everyone that they are just “urban explorers” and anyone saying anything else is a conspiracy theory bigot.
