Here's the model:
Own/operate a struggling business
Take some virtue signaling stance on social media that portrays you as some hero to likeminded social media virtue signalers.
Generate an influx of revenue from new virtue signaling customers in person, as well as "allies" online through some sort of fundraising platform (like GoFundme), that otherwise would not have been received had they just continued running the business in current form.
Gather a nice little nest-egg before eventually shutting down your unsuccessful business after the virtue signalers have moved on to the next "crusade"
