Yea I listened to the audio again. McHenry was clearly working with McCarthy to scuttle Johnson.
After the flameout of Emmer, Molinaro stands up and says let's do a roll call on the guy who finished second, Mike Johnson. Stefanik says the rules prevent that. Molinaro says then I move to waive the rules through unanimous consent, anyone have a problem with doing this? And McCarthy says I object to the roll call.
So a three hour delay follows. McCarthy and his gaggle of GOPe RINOs want and need delay. They have nothing on Mike Johnson. Mike Johnson has been flying under the radar. They need time to scuttle him. They begin working on it. They need more time. McHenry goes to the floor and gives them more time by recessing the House til next day. That's what McCarthy and his gaggle wanted; they wanted to stop any quick movement of unity behind Mike Johnson. They needed time to drive the daggers in him by getting to other people. McHenry gave them that time. Molinaro's move for an immediate roll call on Mike Johnson is scuttled. They have to wait a day now.
The next day McCarthy and his gaggle, after working all night, think they have done enough dirty work and made enough dirty promises and bribes to scuttle Mike Johnson. They're hoping for a 100 votes. They get what, 40 or 30. Then the move is made to go on the record. No secret voting. So now McCarthy and his gaggle, afraid of having to publicly go on the record against Mike Johnson, have to vote for Mike Johnson to maintain their phony facade.

You kind of have to wonder why McCarthy was so desperate to hold the gavel…both back and January and now.
Who does he owe? And what does he owe them? WHY does he owe them?

I took that the opposite way. It seems to me that Gaetz implied McHenry was in on the delaying process with McCarthy as they worked to scuttle Johnson.
I might be wrong then.
I took it McHenry was for Johnson and did to adjourned the session to the next day to prevent write in votes on the floor from members suddenly being absentee.

Looks like Patrick McHenry saved the day.
No. You misunderstand.
McHenry did it because they needed the time to go make promises and try to get votes. They convinced some by offering committee membership and such and lied about how much support they had. When the next vote came in he only had 40 something votes but was pretending he had over 100.
McHenry was doing McCarthy’s bidding.

I don’t believe any of that

Didn’t McCarthy vote for Johnson? Or maybe I’m reading your post incorrectly. Am I right or am I wrong? It’s one of those two I’m damn near certain.
Yes. It was unanimous among the Republican caucus. That vote was public. Nobody was willing to go on record as being against Johnson.

And this^^^ is why every America First/MAGA patriot should be watching War Room
I always chuckle at those who say America First is a cult of Trump…or that it’s not conservative…or that it is GOPe. They have no idea of the depth and basis of the movement and/or who the allies are and what type of people they are.
Bannon’s warroom is the clearest peak into the America First movement and frankly, I think he’s the most influential voice.

it is not Trump. it is somebody to upset the apple cart.
Go to MSN and look at the headlines. There is a LETTE R TO THE EDITOR: Telling Trump supporters they better 'come to Jesus' as he is a crook and OMB.
Then Cruz comes out ever so coyly swinging. LINK He is shocked the internet is not outraged over Trump in GA. AG Barr didn't work.

It is interesting to listen to Gingrich on Hannity have to crawl back into the room and try to save face because he went nuclear on Gaetz. Now he sees a speaker who is more conservative than he was and it is all because of what Gaetz lead.
Gingrich must be getting paid big time as he has started to pander to the uni-party.
He was fine with McCarthy sleeping through his term.

I did not really get that part.
Was McHenry part of the “they”?

Does anyone here fully understand all this current procedural stuff and rules? The lawyers in congress put them in place to do stuff like this. MG understands them to a Tee and used them to get to this point with MJ as SOTH.

Rep. Tim Burchett backs up Gaetz's story
McCarthy won by getting Cheney out. McCarthy and Pelosi are thisclose. McCarthy protects all of the FTX slush funds and that Pelosi ran J6.
McCarthy is uniparty. He is a democrat with a small r after his name.

McCarthy really got exposed in the last few days and Gaetz just put it all out there, naming names, no fricks given.
Good Guys That Led The Way:
Mike Johnson
Mark Molinaro
Jody Arrington
Clay Higgins
Scott Perry
Kevin Hern
Mark Green
Matt Gaetz
Not The Best But Not The Worst, Got On Board Before They Had To Go On Record:
Tom Emmer
Elise Stefanik
Steve Scalise
Dirty Dealing, Backstabbing RINO Scumbags:
Kevin McCarthy
Patrick McHenry
Garrett Graves
McCarthy is exactly what I always thought he was…a Paul Ryan protege disciple, two faced, fake, lying arse, weak bitch, RINO motherfricking POS coward.
Good riddance.

I wonder how Graves is going to fare under Johnson as Speaker. I think his climb up the leadership ladder may be over.
