Worth watching to see how it all unfolded.

Kevin McCarthy stands up and says, I object to doing a roll call on Mike Johnson. And Mike Johnson was exasperated. All the times Johnson had voted for McCarthy, had carried his water, maybe even voted for some bills he didn’t like because he was working toward the Republican conference’s stated objectives under McCarthy. And here was the thing — It showed everyone that it was actually McCarthy who was working to knife Scalise. It was actually McCarthy who was working to knife Jim Jordan. It was McCarthy working to knife everyone, and he hadn’t yet figured out a way to knife Mike Johnson. And so he was worried that there was going to be this great unifying moment, and he scuttled the unifying moment.

Yep. McCarthy may as well switch to Dem; his cred as an honest Conservative (Constitutional Republic via God-given Rights) is over.

He had little cred to begin with which was why him getting the job was always contentious.

Notice the comment about Garret Graves, further confirmation that he’s just a RINO bitch. I cannot wait to vote against that cocksucker

McCarthy is the worst, not sure how he got support but for all the other do nothing RINOs wanting status quo spending on Ukraine. He aligned two decades ago with worthless “leaders” like Ryan and Cantor.

This was really interesting.

Also check out Gaetz own podcast called Firebrand. He goes even deeper.

Johnson sounds like he will be a great SOTH.

Looks like Patrick McHenry saved the day.

So because of McCarthy’s objection, we had to have this three hour delay, and candidates announce again, have another form, and guess what happens during that delay? Steve Patrick McHenry runs to the House floor, opens it up out of recess, and then adjourns till noon today. Now, why did he do that? Because they were setting up a play to block Mike Johnson with write in votes in the intra conference process for Kevin McCarthy.

I don’t believe any of that. Didn’t McCarthy vote for Johnson? Or maybe I’m reading your post incorrectly. Am I right or am I wrong? It’s one of those two I’m damn near certain.

I imagine during the secrete ballot McCarthey was trying to sabotage Johnson. During the vote on the floor with roll call, the rats did not want to get exposed and voted for Johnson.

Reasonable possibility. But it would seem that nets an even worse look for McCarthy for first being the troublemaker described in the attachment, and on top of that then attempting to weasel out and hide from his actions. Surely he would presume that someone in the know would tell the inside story from behind closed doors.

Who knows. Again, that’s a possibility.

Looks like Matt Gaetz is the king maker. I thought he screwed up weeks ago. He looks like a genius.

Have your thoughts on Gaetz shifted due to the fact that the Speaker vacancy chaos has been quelled and all’s well that ends well, or specifically because of who ended up winning the position?

I took that the opposite way. It seems to me that Gaetz implied McHenry was in on the delaying process with McCarthy as they worked to scuttle Johnson.

It's the opposite. He is a McCarthy stooge and tried to sabotage the process in favor of McCarthy.
