If the government was keeping people from working, how were they supposed to pay their bills? The government never should have put people in that position.

I've been told the feds, aka Trump, had nothing to do with the shutdowns.

*Of course injecting trillions into the economy made the shutdowns possible, but no one looks at that...

And he doesn't like to be reminded that he voted Yes for the Consolidated Appropriations Act, omnibus spending bill for Biden.

Surely he didn’t do this! Come on AggieHank. You need to refute this. You said he was a principled conservative.

As with the Covid virus, the ailment in the economy would have been better off running its course. Closing business and forcing people to stay home was the problem. If leaders would have allowed people to follow their judgement, there would have been no problem.

If you concede the most important plank of fiscal conservatism, are you really “winning?”

Probably so but after the media had the public amped up in panic and it being an election year that's basically surrendering the election.

What was Massie's alternative proposal?

IIRC he and Rand Paul wanted to use the unemployment systems in place.

So if people didn't lose their jobs, or, if people were already on government assistance and weren't working, didn't get checks.

What was the effective result of his stand? Did he accomplish anything? He doesn't sound very persuasive, could not get ONE other person out of 425 to join him.
