Why do we have to be world police?
Because Yemen with the support of Iran. Probably with encouragement from Iran, has attacked international shipping and US warships. They've sent long range missiles to Israel. We have to defend our commerce.

Perfect response. Thank you for your assistance.

How many US Aircraft Carriers would you personally tolerate being shot up before you shot back?
You do know that this was in response to a US Aircraft carrier being shot up, right?
What has been made clear -- Trump and this State Dept have been ITCHING to slap Iran around for whatever reason.
Any reports we are told about the extent of hostile fire and ID - might they be fudged for political reasons? DO WE TRUST THE STATE DEPT NOW??

Yea.. let's just allow them to keep bombing our warships. Just let them blow them all up and then reward them by sending over our Statute of Liberty statue to tell them thanks.
If only there was a middle ground here.
Where could we look to see a set of directives for our constitutional republic?
Oh. That’s right. Our constitution.
Massey ain’t wrong.

You would vote yes for a new war in the ME?

You are doing 1 good thing.
Bring us MAGAs closer together.
We know we are on the right track now.

Yes he is and it's been listed by several posters in this thread. Not only have you been given facts, you have been given a history lesson.
Now it's up to you to educate yourself.

Massie has consistently stated this, regardless of who the President is. And he’s right, it’s lawless for POTUS to attack any country whenever he wants to. The American people have been propagandized heavily by the Israeli lobby that controls and funds both parties to believe Iran is a threat. It isn’t, and never really has been.

Dipshit Massie is simply looking at the wrong papers.
He should study the papers Obama used.

Well, don't frick around. Quit teasing.
Give us the Neo-Con, Deep State, Lizard Illuminati, Globalist Elite, Jew-Loving, Christ Killing details.
I guess we shot up our own boat to create a false flag and give us an excuse to sink Iran's boat?
Is that all you've got? You can't be more creative than that?
Remember those UFOs over New Jersey a while back that all of a sudden just went away and nobody ever talked about them again? At least weave them into the storyline.

Paranoia will getcha.
Q: Can you justify going to war against Iran? (and basing it on "muh-Terrorist State or, "Somebody with ties to Iran shot at our carrier"??)
Do you understand that the US is creating a nonsensical mountain out of a mole hill that detracts from focusing on actual MAGA resolutions and problem-solving?
Again -- Massie is 110% correct in his assessment and assertions.

fwiw I can understand your argument. I don’t want war either but Iran needs to stop dicking around. We’re not at war and Trump isn’t the first nor last to make a strike on enemies. Iran is not our friend.

He may want to read a history book. Maybe he needs to read this: LINK
Or maybe this:
two congressional war authorizations—the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) and the 2002 Iraq AUMF— serve as the legal basis for military operations against suspected terrorist groups abroad.
You see, CONGRESS HAS ALREADY VOTED ON IT!
And here is that history lesson (provided by Defcon1):
First Barbary War (1801–1805): This conflict began when the Pasha of Tripoli declared war on the United States. President Thomas Jefferson responded by deploying naval forces without seeking a formal declaration of war from Congress.
Second Barbary War (1815): President James Madison sought and received congressional authorization to use military force against Algiers, but this was not a formal declaration of war
What other military action has the US participated without declaring war?
The United States has engaged in numerous military actions without formally declaring war. Some notable examples include:
Korean War (1950-1953): This was termed a "police action" and was conducted under the auspices of the United Nations.
Vietnam War (1955-1975): U.S. involvement escalated without a formal declaration of war, relying instead on congressional resolutions like the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.
Persian Gulf War (1990-1991): This was authorized by a United Nations resolution and congressional approval but not a formal war declaration.
The U.S. participated in NATO's bombing campaign during the Kosovo War in 1999. This was part of Operation Allied Force, aimed at stopping the ethnic cleansing of Albanians in Kosovo by Serbian forces under Slobodan Miloševic. The campaign lasted from March to June 1999 and involved extensive airstrikes on military targets in Yugoslavia, including in Kosovo and Serbia.
The operation was controversial, as it was conducted without a formal United Nations mandate, but NATO justified it as a humanitarian intervention. It ultimately led to the withdrawal of Yugoslav forces from Kosovo and the establishment of a UN-administered territory.
Afghanistan (2001-present): Military action began following the 9/11 attacks, authorized by Congress but not declared as a war.
Iraq War (2003-2011): Similar to Afghanistan, this was authorized by Congress but not formally declared as a war.
Other actions:
The U.S. has been involved in military actions against Libya on multiple occasions:1986 Bombing of Libya (Operation El Dorado Canyon): This was a U.S. airstrike in response to Libyan involvement in terrorist attacks, including the bombing of a Berlin nightclub. The operation targeted military sites in Tripoli and Benghazi.
Ther actions where war was not declared:
2011 NATO Intervention: The U.S. played a significant role in the NATO-led military intervention during the Libyan Civil War. This was conducted under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973, which authorized a no-fly zone and measures to protect civilians. The intervention contributed to the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi's regime.
2015–2019 Campaign Against ISIL: The U.S. carried out airstrikes and drone strikes in Libya as part of the international campaign against ISIL. These operations targeted ISIL.
