This. Can we not hit the breaks on over reacting until the boots on the ground are actually involved with Iran forces?
We have 1000s of Navy personnel involved right now, why does 2500 marines in a base 100s of miles from Iran change anything?

It gives the option of putting boots on the ground quickly once they arrive in theater. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more ground troops starting to move into the area soon.

Right. We aren’t going in with anything other than maybe Special Forces to secure enriched uranium.
An invasion would have to be massive. You’d see at least half a million troops massed along with armor, choppers, etc

Trump should be focusing on domestic issues, bringing down inflation more, adding more jobs, etc, not spending billions on an ill conceived war across the globe that is making life more difficult for American voters.

A MEU is about 2,200 Marines/Sailors. They go out to the Med. Sea and Persian Gulf (and many other places) twice a year.
