Nope.
They will be good little bolsheviks and only earn what the sanitation workers make.

Why do they need pay raises when the government provide everything for free in their dreamland?

Did the proletariat ax for raises?
Posted on 7/7/26 at 10:35 am to stout
Oh look, more public employees voting themselves raises.

Rich people willing to pay more in taxation to fund Mandami’s ridiculous socialist experiment, don’t deserve to be rich.

This is so awesome to watch unfold. It'll be interesting to see how Mamdani is viewed in a year or two.

It’s always the same with communists

They'll need to raise taxes again!
You get what you vote for.

By the way, it’s not an 118% raise. It’s 18%, which is still a lot.

Read the OP again. They said 118% of their current salary which is an 18% raise. They didn't say an 118% raise. You imagined that.

The only people who ever benefit from a communist system are the communists who run the system.
The regular people who get hoodwinked into believing that Marxism will make everything in their life better always eventually learn that nothing ever really gets better and more often than not, manages to get worse.
All they’ve really accomplished at the end of the day for themselves is getting rid of one set of old elites and replacing them with a new set of “commie elites”.

Those really aren't outrageous salaries for NY.
A cop can be earning 250,000 after ten years on the job in New York City.

They say that to be misleading and make people think the raise is bigger than it actually is.
118% looks more sexy than 18%

Not even close to how socialism works. There are still rich people in socialism. It is just a very small group and they are always the party leaders.
Everyone else is in for a big shitty surprise.

Sorry my guy, but that is outrageous salaries.
If you live somewhere, where cops get paid a quarter million after 10 years on the job, you live in a place where your currency has been devalued too much and you should move.

Isn’t working for the good of all and the collective good enough reward?

But I thought Mandami said the city was in a dire financial situation and have to raise taxes to fix it?
Hilarious how you have been on a "look at them enrich themselves" posting spree... and then defend the self described "socialist" for voting the upper management of the city raises while taxing the public more.
