Mamdani ripped over 'freak show' press conference where eviction was declared a form of 'violence'
New York City socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani is facing criticism online over a press conference where a local housing advocate claimed evictions are a form of "violence" as the mayor stood behind her.
"Our city is turning the corner on tenant power. When we organize, we win results. The Mamdani administration is emboldening us so we no longer tolerate the violence of evictions as a matter of business as usual," Antonia Marrero, a member of the Housing Organizers for People Empowerment (HOPE) Tenant Union, said during a press conference on Thursday.
Mamdani, who has faced heavy criticism over the past year for his housing policies, was quickly blasted by conservatives and political commentators in general on social media over the comment.
"This looks like a scene out of a Batman movie," Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez posted on X.

I say more power to them. They voted for this shite. Let them live with it.
Block evictions and no one pays rent. I guess that's one way to make housing more affordable.
Good luck NYC. I'll check back in a couple of years.

When you don't pay your bills, this is what you can expect.
Pay your housing first, not your cellphone, not your booze and not your smokes.
If you can't reliably pay your housing, get something cheaper. If you need to move, then move to another part of the country.
Jesus, people, this shite is not hard.

Where did Mamdani find that 60's hippie? A Grateful Dead concert?

Don’t mock your executioner

What about the "violence" of theft or trespassing? Apparently "violence" is whatever we don't like.

Soon, being terminated from work will be seen as an act of violence

I've said for years, most communists are born out of losers who couldn't pay their rent and found it easier to decide it was someone else's fault.

But it won't just be confined to NYC. Unfortunately, there is no wall to keep that shite from spreading.

Unfortunately, its not the majority of New Yorkers who voted for this; it's just that Mamdani was able to get more voters to cast their vote for him in what was, in effect, an internal Democratic Party election.

He comes across as the most "normal" compared to everyone else on that video.

That smile is so important to making him palatable to normies that he can’t stop using it. But at the same time it’s nauseating and so obviously fake that the continuous use will also start rubbing normies the wrong way.
He’s basically stuck being this fake POS or his whole brand collapses under the weight up him being a Ugandan Muslim Communist.

Anyone that says anything that’s not violence is violence shall be met with real violence.

The fact that he's the mayor of NYC and our own CIA hasn't thought about giving him the JFK treatment is such a black mark on our country.

What about the "violence" of not paying for things citizens are supposed to?
Would he consider it "violence" if his government went after "the rich" if they opt to not pay their taxes to him?

Don’t fall in the commie trap.
It’s meant to demoralize.
Learn their language; reasoning with them is not an option. Once you realize that statements like violence is just an identifier and a virtue signal to who they are. They’re basically saying violence in that regard is capitalist greed. They’re saying their anti capitalist, the enemy.

All part of the plan.
Take away all of the landlord's rights. Landlords either sell at a bargain to escape NYC's bullshite or they walk away and let the property go into foreclosure. Then someone who's curried favor with Mamdani can swoop in and buy the property for pennies on the dollar in a foreclosure sale.

The combination of victimization and entitlement is amazing.
We have some in this country who genuinely believe they should have everything provided to them.
