Is that a mudslide from too much rain?

Or just rain in general. That particular area has a history of mud/landslides.

Most of those people if not all didn’t make it from the shots I saw.

I know it floods bad here in Louisiana. But damn I’m glad we don’t have the flash flooding like this, or like what we saw in Texas last summer. It seems like our water just rises instead of rushing down a river or mountain. You can’t be prepared for that type of flash flooding.

I actually enjoy Gauchos ability to drop hilarious trolls on any topic on any board, and people still take the bait

It’s an impressive skill

Well that’s because Louisiana doesn’t have mountains and valleys/gorges to funnel large volumes of water through narrow spaces

Glad you put in just enough effort to figure that out.

You should reward yourself with a day of rest tomorrow.

This morning, the report was an earthquake with a 4.4 Richter. No landslide could equal that energy. There were also reports of major damage in several locations many miles apart. There were even videos with descriptions in at least two different languages.
The people running for their lives were more in number than the first reported death toll; the running ones didn't stand a chance in the short time before the water and mud and debris hit

The glacier ice break created an ice dam and this is the result when it blew.

First hand look at the raw power that created many land features after the last ice age. Truly terrifying and beyond belief to see. The speed of that water holy crap.

The portion of the glacier that reportedly broke off and dammed the river was a kilometer thick. It rapidly melted and eventually gave way to an absolutely huge wall of water. It sounds like a pretty major event, which is obvious by seeing the fallout.
