the politicians of today, yes. that has not always been true. it reflects our society of shallow values and materialism uber alles.

quote:

The ability to gain and consolidate power is their chief need

in a never ending game of power grabbing, nothing is ever constant or consistent, the american public is ever anxious about how drastically their lives will change every 4 years and what changes need to be made to counteract the whiplash. it's exhausting, unhealthy and unsustainable.

quote:

They don’t need to give a Ted talk on Locke to do that.

no, but they need to know why they believe what they do in order to be in any way authentic and argue with weight behind their beliefs. otherwise, they're just floating in the political wind, and what's to stop them from, in their pride and hubris, making terrible decisions that are antithetical to what you thought they would do?

if they can't articulate to you what philosophy governs their actions, do you even have a right to be upset when they do something you don't agree with? why would you assume that they would act otherwise?

Sure. If you’d like to pretend we don’t live in our own society, your point is incredibly important.

Nothing. Trump did all those things. So does Nancy Pelosi. So does Kevin McCarthy.

So the criticism of Trump is more a criticism of our modern moment and values. Not Trump.

Yeah, that’s a good point.

Can it not be both at the same time? Can we not demand more from our politicians?

This is his biggest weakness is picking good candidates. OZ was a terrible pick and Walker while a good person isn't knowledgeable enough on various subjects to win any debates against these clowns.

The context indicates that it is more like,

'the MAGA movement is dying unless you get involved.'

Trump is a businessman and not an artist. You have different types of intelligence in this world and knowing Aristotle isn't going to help the average American. His business acumen is one of the reasons people voted for him and that experience helped bring in policies that helped Americans.

It's dying because of celebrity nonsense like Dr Oz, Herschel Walker, etc rather than being about the actual issues and people of America.

I think Coach Tubs turned out to be a good senator.

Mehmet Oz is a terrible candidate. Trump needs to listen to Steve Bannon for political advice instead of Jarred.

Never forget Trump was a darling of the Hollywood/pop culture crowd….he has/had a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Shame.

My advice to Trump is to avoid endorsing candidates for high political office that made a living in the entertainment side of television.

Absolutely. We should be asking more. But then it’s silly to say “this is a problem peculiar to Trump!”

I’ve spoken with all of the US Representatives for Missouri with the exception of Cori Bush. None of them are smart or especially in the mode of a “philosopher King.” That’s simply not who succeeds in our modern electoral process.

Is that part of the problem? Yep.

There are ZERO STATESMAN that are Trustworthy, why do people keep circling back to this?

This is a street-fight & we have been playing too nice. We don’t need a statesman, we need a bar room brawler, an outsider, a derelict.

Romney is a Statesman, how’d he turn out? We don’t need to hear the platitudes, the same sound-bites recycled over and over. I don’t want another lawyer in office, we need a common sense business man.

Trump is a brawler!
He hates the establishment
He had to play ball with them for decades, he played the game
To advance and get his business deals going.
They looked down on him, no access to
Their secret societies (or so I’ve heard he was rejected when he was younger?)
He’s got a hard-on to take Them down, that’s what we need.

I’m just 4 years, Re-wrote the NAFTA deal, was re-doing the China trade deal & the. They released Covid. He went after Big Pharma and had insulin affordable, he was just getting started.

People need to look at the policies he was re-shaping, look at the actions he was taking, and quit listening to the narrative of “Orange Man immature”
“Orange man racist”
“Orange man too childesh”

Look at the SUBSTANCE OF WHAT HE CHANGED and WHERE HE WAS GOING, that’s all that matters.

He’s exactly what we need, he’s just outnumbered BIGLY!

The fact that MSM, Globalist, Corporations, Liberal Talking Heads are obsessed to bring him down and the fact that turncoat Politicians aka OZ have to use his name to get elected should tell you everything you need to know, they fear him.

All else are BUYABLE, Blackmailed, open to extortion etc…

Anyone that loves this country & their freedom, better get on the Trump Train and get some thick skin, quit listening to this false narrative they are all using now.

MAGA is just another group that can't look in the mirror for what's going wrong with them. Perpetual victimhood
Those rally people are not....elite.
Lot of antisemitism too.
