Sit back and relax. No US lives will be required to achieve this goal.

Russia and China watch how the administration reacts to these situations

Russia does not need to observe how Trump acts. They get anything that they want from Trump and Putin knows how to play Trump like a fiddle.

The secondary and tertiary possible effects of our intervention to produce regime change should ALWAYS be thoroughly examined. For example, how does the surrounding region react to the presence of Maduro, vs. what their reaction will predictably be in his absence?

The “Saddam effect” likely isn’t transferable here because the regional terrain and political fault lines are completely different. South America isn’t the Middle East: no sectarian blocs, no proxy powers waiting to pounce.

If there’s one effect that does hit us directly, it’s refugees. Venezuela has already pushed over seven million people out without a war or a power vacuum. The surrounding countries have already taken on millions of Venezuelans , so the overflow almost certainly heads north. Colombia, Brazil, and the Caribbean will funnel people toward the US border.

We're not. Did you see the 1st Armored Division's tanks sailing out of Galveston last week? The 82nd doesn't have enough armor to take over a capital, and the MEU that is out there has none.

This will be a Libya style nut cutting, probably nothing more.

Wasn’t Venezuela a very prosperous Nation before Maduro? Maybe I’m confusing it with another? Mucho Oil?

An invasion would be a mistake, but selective strikes against the criminals that prop up Maduro would be a good next step. Tábata and Cabello would be good starts. Maduro will collapse without them.

Columbian cartels are probably not sleeping very well. Venezuela falls, we get a pro-American government,..........don't need to read tea leaves to predict what comes next. Mexico is the 3rd kid watching the first two get smacked.

A quarter of the U.S. Navy’s combat fleet is now parked outside of Venezuela.

WTF happened to our fleet?
We're suddenly down to 48 battle force ships, including just 4 carriers????

As of early December 2025, about 11-12 U.S. Navy warships are reportedly deployed off/near the coast of Venezuela. That includes the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and its task force.

The U.S. Navy's active combat fleet consists (or used to) of nearly 300 deployable battle force ships, including ELEVEN (11) aircraft carriers, ~90 cruisers/destroyers, ~70 submarines, ~30 amphibious ships, and smaller combatants like littoral combat ships. A "quarter" would equate 3 carriers and about 74 ships .... far exceeding the 10-12 vessels currently in the region.

So why are we doing this to Venezuela?

"Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world, estimated at approximately 303 billion barrels. However, its oil production has significantly declined due to various factors, including political instability and economic mismanagement."

China is all over S America because they don't want to be held hostage by Russia for oil & gas.

I believe this is what this is all about. He is getting the Chicoms out of the hemisphere along with any Russian influence that might be down there.
