BREAKING: Trump Commerce Sec. Howard Lutnick just let the globalists in Davos HAVE IT, dropping truth right to their faces!
"Globalism has FAILED the West and the United States of America! It's a FAILED policy!"
"It is what the west has stood for, which is export, offshore, far shore, find the cheapest labor in the world and the world is a better place for it."
"The fact is it has left America behind. It has left the American workers behind."
"And what we are here to say is that America first is a different model, one that we encourage other countries to consider."
"Which is that our workers come first. We can have policies that impact our workers. Sovereignty is your borders. You're entitled to have borders. You shouldn't offshore your medicine. You shouldn't offshore your semiconductors. You shouldn't offshore your entire industrial base and have it be hollowed out beneath you. You should not be dependent for that which is fundamental to your sovereignty on any other nation."
This ^^^ is all great, I'm just stupefied why it took the rat bastards in DC 35 years to figure out what street level Americans knew from the get go.
Oh wait, I'm not stupefied. We all know why it took 35 years for the rat bastards in DC to figure out offshoring the US industrial/manufacturing base to foreign nations was a mistake, they were all getting fabulously wealthy at the expense of the American middle class shipping jobs and factories out of the country, now the same rat bastards have found religion.

Do you have any idea of what Cantor Fitzgerald does? I like Lutnick, but he speaks out of both sides of his mouth on this issue. His firm made a fortune bankrolling "Globalist" type of projects. All those guys on Wall Street did.
This is a problem with people. They fail to understand the reality. Reality is I have to play by the rules set for me. So does every other American.
Just because he played by the rules then does not make him trapped in the past and reality of how things were done then.
Globalism is not what we thought it would be. So when it's not and you are in position to make a change, you make it.

Or... maybe he saw the writing on the wall.

What writing on what wall. Cantor is still funding "globalist" projects and Lutnick's sons are making a fortune.
Did you know they were and are big proponents of ESG?

Are the globalist the self-appointed “next step“ of failed communism? Instead of an open war it seems like countries are just rolling over and handing over their sovereignty. What’s in it for them?
Posted on 1/20/26 at 3:46 pm to BCreed1
Unless the US becomes totally isolationist, you'll have globalism. The only debate is the extent.

Oh noz what a terrible guy
Did you even read the article.
Yes, I did. And kudos to Cantor Fitzgerald/Lutnik for paying 658 dead employees $28,000 / year over 10 years, while they stopped paying those employees paychecks before they were even identified as dead. Most of those dead employees made more than that in a month, all while Howard "Ghandi" Lutinik personally pocketed the majority of a $135mm settlement from American Airlines.

Lutnick is an idiot that apparently doesn’t even know what globalism is.
By all means, then please educate the board on what globalism really is.

AI Overview
The U.S. has experienced significant economic growth fueled by the post-WWII liberal international order, benefiting from open markets, security alliances, and global institutions that fostered trade, reduced costs for consumers, and drove innovation, though this order faces challenges from rising powers like China and shifting U.S. foreign policy, impacting its role and economic dynamics in a more fragmented world. This order facilitated U.S. dominance, boosting exports, attracting investment, and enhancing quality of life through cheaper imports, but current trends suggest a reevaluation of U.S. global engagement and its impact on domestic growth.
Benefits of the Order for U.S. Growth
Economic Powerhouse: The U.S. became the world's largest economy partly by shaping this system of free markets, underpinning its vast exports and technological leadership.
Consumer Benefits: Low tariffs increased consumer buying power, boosting living standards, with cheap imports significantly benefiting average Americans, notes the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
Investment & Innovation: Access to global markets encourages investment in export sectors, increasing scale and lowering production costs, which strengthens economic growth, according to the USTR.
Security & Stability: The order, built on alliances and international law, provided a stable environment for U.S. economic and political leadership, though this is now contested.
Challenges & Shifting Dynamics
Erosion of the Order: The post-WWII framework is challenged by China's rise, populist movements, and a more nationalist U.S. approach under President Trump, disrupting established norms, according to Chatham House.

I did, thus my statement that both are full of shite. This anti globalist shite is just opium for the base. They rail against it but aren't serious....and you buy it.

Not to get too deep into the weeds on this topic.
It comes down to national security. Globalism ultimately makes our enemies stronger and makes us dependent upon the whims of other nations.
I'm glad we're enacting protectionist policies and reevaluating how we outsource production of important everyday items. Tariffs aren't the end-all be-all tool, but they are A tool to balance trade relations to our favor.
When it comes down to it, I want Americans to not only have affordable cost of living, but a secure future.

And then came along characters like Klaus Schwab or George Soros who decided that wasn’t quite good enough or went far enough for the “international liberal order”.
