Reveille

quote:

When you come and tell me you have people who are frustrated, I say to you, ‘Have you actually gone out and asked people do they really even know what these names are?’” Tate said. “Because most don't, including Middleton, which I was very surprised, given all the things that have been related to that.”

Does this mean the Middleton's get their s**t back?

ask 100 campus lefties who Troy Middleton was in 2015, and 100 of them will have no answer.

ask 100 campus lefties who Troy Middleton was in 2021, and half wont know and the other half will know only that he was an alleged racist.

woke culture is the problem.

I have to say, it’s early, but I think the Tate fears may have been unfounded… at least on the face of things.

Finally someone who gets it. There are a lot of things that need to be done concerning systemic racism, but renaming buildings and removing statues should be so low on that list. It does virtually nothing except piss off half of the people.

I've been saying for a long time that the only way to truly beat leftism is for leaders who are perceived to be leftists to speak common sense to the left.

Remember this? Obama Challenges "Woke" Culture

It persuaded more lefties than 10,000 Tucker Carlson monologues.

They don't listen to a word us conservatives say. They think we're all stupid rednecks.

Baloney! There have been a lot of statues removed and buildings renamed that should not have been. THAT is true. But we SHOULD remove the statues of people, like Robert E Lee, who, given the choice - and he was - chose to fight FOR slavery. Save the states rights shite. That's not what the civil war was about. Everyone at the time knew it was about making money off the labor of slaves.

I do not think Robert E Lee was a bad man. It's just that he does not deserve to be singled out for honor, and doing so is a humiliating slap in the face to the descendants of the slaves Lee fought to keep in chains.

I am sure Tate believes we have a big ole racism problem in this country that needs fixing.

He probably also understands that changing the name of a building isn't going to do jack squat to fix that problem. In fact, it probably makes it works.

He gets a lot of crap for his stance on CRT teaching in schools... which he deserves. But he's also smart enough to understand that if he wants things to change... it's going to be because the young people in school are taught to do things differently and to think differently.

Whatever goal he has... it's not going to be accomplished by removing white guy names from school buildings.

Liberals need rich white people money to further their goals. Taking down names doesn't help get more rich white people money. He realizes that.

Absolutely agree. If we can get rid of BLM and woke culture that will take care of 98% of the systemic racism problem.

No, you'd have to get rid of affirmative action. THAT is almost the only systemic racism in America.

This guy has a pretty well-documented history of being a delusional radical, he’s not really fooling anyone

A quote like this is only made through his teeth in the interest of fundraising

So is everyone on this committee black? Looked up Woodson and Bowman and they definitely are... And wtf does "Blackout LSU" mean? I know what it meant when I was in school But I get the feeling it means something much worse for this.

The white* girl with the "White Supremacy stole our Liberty" sign.

Would love to hear how that was done, and especially to her.

*She'll end up saying she's a half/qtr/etc something, but doubt she's affected at all.

Especially if he puts the names that came down back on the buildings. Only then will that hope be verified. It's easy to always say what you would have done of something that has already been done.
