A run-off between Wilson and Landry would be incredibly disappointing, but not surprising.
If that happens, I'll definitely vote against Wilson but I'll hold my nose when I vote...

I was going to begrudgingly vote for Landry but then this happened:

Nola.com: Trial attorneys gave heavily to elect John Bel Edwards. Now they are giving to Jeff Landry.

quote:

Glenn Armentor, a prominent Lafayette trial attorney, has long feared that Landry would side with business interests over trial lawyers, and told him so when the two men met for three hours at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse recently.

“He gave me his word that he would be a friend to trial lawyers, and they would be a friend to him,” said Armentor, a major Edwards supporter who has donated to Wilson, but not yet to Landry.

Jeff Landry is a MAJOR snake. So frick that guy. I'm going with Waguespack.

he was only there for the first term, which has been praised as successful. The second term is where it went to shite.

Pretty much all of Jindal’s landmark reforms from the first term turned out to be full of sh$t, too.

Dismantling charity hospital system: just resulted in LSU handing contracts out to political patrons while poor citizens were left stranded, having to go farther to access critical care

Charter schools: roll-out was ruled unconstitutional. After many set-backs getting started, the schools have mostly failed at their mission. I’m not convinced charters aren’t a good idea, but the execution has been terrible.

Ethics: doesn’t actually stop corruption, just creates a ton of rules that are nearly impossible to follow so that anyone in government who makes too much of a fuss can be found guilty of something.

Tax reform: dubious economic growth numbers, massive budget shortfalls for years, lots of shady accounting tricks to make the budget appear balanced without technically “raising taxes”. Eliminating the state income tax was DOA.

Higher Education: punted completely on consolidation and reform. Instead, simply asked the same universities to do more with “less”. Most universities only saw reductions in the annual rate of planned budget increase, but some universities (especially UNO) were budgeted based on their post-Katrina spending, meaning they actually took a huge haircut.

JBE was worse, but Jindal was a huge wasted opportunity.

convoluted way to say it

Say what exactly? In the primary, it doesn't matter wo places 1st, unless they get a majority. If Wags gets the second-most votes, you have an all Republican runnoff:

Scenario 1:

Landry 40%
Waguespack 28%
Wilson 27%
Others 10%

OR

Landry 45%
Wilson 27%
Wags 23%
Others 10%

Which scenario is better?!

Will get mid-20's to low 30's no matter what. Wags is tracking right behind that. If all the non-Landry Repubs get behind Waguespack, you screw Landry AND Wilson.

I like Schroder but he seems very average

I’m not going to disagree that he has not come off well in the debates. Just starting to think that’s not his forte, and unfortunately in these media days of elections, that hurts him.

But I can honestly say that he is very well versed on the real state issues. He proposed real reform legislation as a State Rep, did very well at the podium in arguing for reforms and fighting against bad budgets, and was very good as a Treasurer. I honestly believe he would be a really good Governor for Louisiana.

But that is just my unprofessional opinion.

Probably Wags because has the best chance to make the runoff of any republican not named Landry.

That's where it gets tricky. Should I vote for who I want even though they don't have much hope, or should I vote for the republican with the best chance to win? Louisiana always fricks it up because there is more than one republican, and whenever the primary is over, the candidate that wins the primary can't move the other R votes, so we get stuck with a dipshit Democrat. If Wilson wins, I'm leaving. I love Louisiana, and I always get downvoted to oblivion when I bring up the shortcomings here, but the future is not bright here. Soon, there will be more people on Welfare and Food stamps than not. Even though those would be federal benefits, it's a microcosm of things.

Wags.

Because he’s actually got a plan and has been specific in what he’d to do to address the most serious of issues…legal reform, the insurance crisis, taxes, and crime.

Add Landry to the list.

Wilson is just a token appointment who is about useless as tits on a boar hog.

Lundy looks like a wore out drunk who is way in over his head.

Landry just oozes creepiness and corruption.

I am down to either voting FOR Wags or Schroder.

Wags seems to be getting a bum-rap with his association with Jindal. He seems to have a good grasp of the issues and has experience dealing with the snakes, vipers, and vermin in BR/NOLA.

Schroder seems like an honorable man and comes off as sincere. Can he navigate the corruption and rot in the Capital?

He decided to show his true colors by dropping out and supporting Landry in hopes of landing a job in his administration. What a hypocrite.

You guys see him as a reformer, a young up and comer. I did too.

But then why did he throw in with Landry?
