District 2 looks like another racial gerrymander.

Wrong. It’s a partisan gerrymander.

It’s the best possible outcome bc it keeps the dem damage limited to one spot

And that makes it OK? What interest do I in BR have with someone in NOLA? What would OUR guy fight for that benefits both areas? Still a joke. Better but still a joke.

Thankfully, it doesn't have to go back to committee. Just needs Senate concurrence.

Problem you have is a particular race votes for a particular party 90-95% of the time, so a partisan gerrymander looks a hell of a lot like a racial gerrymander.

Why? It’s North BR.

This is definitely a racial map again.

I legit seeing it run through the middle of Jefferson Parish. Cannot quite tell what the borders are on the surface. Looks like Metairie, Harahan, River Ridge, North Kenner (by Lake), and Lafitte in Dist 1. South Kenner (by River/airport), and Westbank along the River in Dist 2???

I'm sure they had a non-racial reason to stretch a district from north Baton Rouge to the Ninth Ward.

Map sucks.

Look on the bright side. This guy's seat is safe and a piece of the swamp survives.

There may not be a single white Baton Rouge resident in the yellow area who is not a crackhead.

Not sure how that map doesn’t go against the supreme court’s ruling, but whatever.

In any drawing, first thing you have to do is give Johnson and Scalise whatever they want because they hold the two highest positions in the US House.

Then you draw the other four with what’s left. If you draw six R districts, you put Scalise in a marginal R district that he’d have a fight every two years.

Ain’t worth it. Give Ds one to make sure Scalse is in a solid R.

That’s how the numbers work.

Take all the crap about commonality and equality and common interest and throw all that in the trash.

This ain’t civics. This is real life. And real politics.

Yeah frick all that. Shoul be SB116 and give us 6-0. I don’t care about scalise and his position. He’s a shite back stabbing rep anyway
