Abraham was horrible. I'm worried about Edward's winning now. Rispone is the smartest of the three and authentically cares.

I truly feel like jbe looked the best tonight. I think he’s a terrible governor, and hope he loses. But Abraham did himself zero favors tonight.

Rispone isn't running against JBE right now. He's running against Abraham.

He gained a lot of votes tonight that Ralph Abraham lost. Now he just needs to build on that without attacking Abraham.

Abraham had 30 seconds to close out and he fricked it up! What the hell Ralph? It’s not like he was conducting a closing argument in front of a jury to save a man’s life. Good grief.

I thought Rispone did really well, especially on the jobs and infrastructure (most important IMO) portion. Had the best line of the night too:
“It’s fun to watch two politicians go after each other. I’m just a business man.”

I hate Rispone’s commercials. They’re the lowest form of pandering imaginable. I can’t see myself supporting him. Abraham came off like a real dipshit tonight. JBE is a greasy politician.

I’ll repeat. We’re fricked.

I agree. Rispone impressed me. But he's got a little ways to go to earn my vote. He really needs to focus on himself and his plans on their own merits.

Stop the attack ads. They're a turn off.

I thought Abraham came out strong with the Boom about voting for the budgets that caused the deficits. It was all downhill from there. I thought JBE was consistent throughout but the back and forth with Doc was not a good look. Rispone started out looking very bad but came on strong mostly because Doc and JBE were arguing with each other. Rispone won the night, I think.

The way the Edwards clan rolls in Tangi, this would not shock me.

I changed to undecided after Rispone dropped the ad against Abraham and I’m still undecided after tonight.

However, I remain firmly anyone but John Bel Edwards and will have no problem voting for either Rispone or Abraham in the runoff

Rispone did himself a lot of good tonight. However, he still needs to take the anti-Abraham ad down.

I also loved this line:
Raising taxes and then claiming a budget surplus as a victory is just another way of saying we took too much of people's money. That shouldn't happen if you pass a balanced budget that makes sense.

Rispone isn't doing terrible, but he should've embraced his "I'm different because I'm an outsider" persona. Instead of a fresh blood outsider, he looks like an outmatched and outclassed amateur politician.

Rankings based on tonight

1. JBE
2. Rispone
3. Abraham

I think John Bel starts with an inherent advantage as the incumbent governor. He didn't do anything to hurt himself tonight and gave the most polished answers.

Rispone started slow but came on late and got some shots in at the others.

Abraham was awful. I was leaning more toward Abraham but hadn't made up my mind but he didn't impress me at all tonight. He stumbled through several answers, got hit hard on his voting record in congress and mentioned raising taxes.

Rispone definitely benefitted tonight but wondering how he would do one on one vs Edwards.
