I didn't even know there was an election until yesterday... I have been paying too much attention to the national news stuff...

Maybe our politicians could put together agendas the voters could actually get behind rather than kitchen sink BS that neither side of the “regular person” aise could agree with.

I have to confess that I don't know anything about this. Louisiana can do better than Landry, but on his worst day he's still better than that bought-and-paid-for POS Jon Bel Edwards.

Why tf wouldn't Landry have put this on the ballot during the Trump landslide in LA?

That would require them to work

Landry is a POS, fast talking, Charleton, used car salesman,
street hustling, ambulance chasing scumbag!!!!

Nothing will change in La. We are a Banana Republic & can’t wait until 7 years when the kids are 18.

I’m OUT & I’ll finance them moving if they want to join.

But La.Is like volunteering to live in quick sand.and my family has been in NOLA side 1699

But I’ve had enough & FRICK LANDRY

Bring his was back to his Bayou Talk & ride the frick out

This seems like a lazy excuse. Did I miss him selling it to the Louisiana public before the vote?

He spent money for ads. He didn't really make a lot of personal appearances that I could see.

But he isn't wrong. Leftists went hard on this. Partially because they didn't like it; partially because they wanted to stop Jeff from getting a win.

Most of us have been conditioned to vote “no” on everything on principle.

And I will also be leaving as soon as practically possible.

Lawyers run this place. Just like DC. It is fricked beyond repair.

Since Amendment 2 failed that was going to lower income tax, are they going to lower the income tax that they just raised? LA is a fricking joke.
Amendment 2 wasn’t going to lower income taxes. They would be the same as they were yesterday (3%). All Amendment 2 did was lower the maximum cap from 4.25% to 3.25%. It didn’t change the current income tax rate.

There was no “lowering” happening. Landry bamboozled you!

That was the original plan when he was pushing a constitutional convention. However that stalled and pushed back the whole timeline. So rather than rewrite the whole constitution they focused on the biggest problem: Article VII, the tax and spending section.

The next election that would be before the regular session was today. They wanted to be before session so can just use the changes from the amendment in the budget that would be built in the session.

And that's not crazy. Governors and legislatures have done some dumb stuff.

Lack of trust that these will do anything they claim to do.

Louisianans still waiting on those insurance rates to come down that we were promised from the tort reform package last year:

I received 3 AI robo calls this week. John Kennedy, Jeff Landy and Donald Jr. All urging to vote for #2. I didn't get any calls from the D's, but I can understand them being heavily against the minors as adults one.

Soros 1 Louisiana 0. Sad that a socialist billionaire killed our chance to begin the elimination of State income tax.

I voted yes on all 4. I wanted DOGE and a continuation of millages (not NEW taxes) to continue current projects, esp roads and drainage.

I hate taxes, but I agree to some/most of them. I don't ever get a refund and usually have to write a check for a little more. Don't hate me because I tried to help you.

Feels like a shot at the voters who overwhelmingly voted these down.

Landry and co spent almost 600k just pushing for a yes on amendment 2.

The “leftists" spent much less pushing for a no on all 4. Most of which was targeting amendment 3.
