She was all smiles and very stylish walking in and out of court earlier this week.
She was looking HAWT!
She definitely wasn't looking like she was in her mid-50's.

Needs a better attorney
This was my first thought.

That’s the problem with financial crimes. If all they had to do was pay a fine, when would they ever be incentivized not to commit such crimes? Martha Stewart found out that she couldn’t just pay a fine to absolve her of her own crimes.

She also lied about the "donation". It wasn't a charitable contribution it was a bribe. She committed tax fraud. Try it out on your tax returns and see what kind of sweet deal you get from the Feds.

She had to have (likely very expensive) counsel advising her. Gonna be interesting.

If she thought she was dealing with LA County DA, she was probably justified in thinking this way.
Unfortunately for her, she's dealing with a US Attorney and those frickers don't play.

I don't think we know that yet.
Felicity Huffman was caught on tape discussing taking the $15,000 she gave as a charitable contribution deduction. However, I believe that she gave the $15,000 in 2018, so she probably did not take the deduction once the sh!t hit the fan.
If Loughlin actually took a $500,000 charitable contribution deduction (remember he oldest is a sophomore so this probably started 2-3 years ago), and her attorney did not DEMAND that she take the plea deal (assuming the plea deal covered the CRIMINAL tax fraud), then that lawyer should be sued for malpractice. That lawyer should have immediately QUIT if she didn't agree to take the plea deal if that would have been the only way to get her attention.

either she or the writer is a DA for using that term here

This is why I’d make a lousy DA. I’d have both mom and daughter on their knees polishing my knob seeing just how bad they want to avoid jail.
My plea deal would include both daughters.

this may turn out to be a stormy-avenatti situation where lawsuits and ethics complaints follow suit
the feds also seriously punish you if you don't take a deal (and that's without adding new charges)

All she needs to do is use her girl's (Hilldawg) excuse for breaking the the law....., innocent mistake, no intent.

I think she's watched Molly's Game too much and thinks she'll get a sympathetic judge.

I bet if the DA offers another deal, albeit more time and more money, he'll not only close the case, get the threesome, ...
but throw in a new boat, and some Target Gift Cards for his wife to stock up on the Fashion Designer Husband's stuff for a few years too.

I mean Make her pay taxes and penalties . That seems fine.
she then turned around and used the $500k bribe as a tax write off.... went from minor league to big leagues with the move....
money laundering.....

She's still attractive, but that daughter is smokin' hot. Appropriate that she went to USC, because she is definitely Trojan-worthy.

Is that the attorney from Arrested Development behind her?

she believed that the district attorney was only "bluffing"
Well this is her first problem....she's in federal court not state court. U.S. Attorney, not DA. The former doesnt bluff. When they come for you typically the case is already a slam dunk.

She's what they call a Grenada.
