The county I live in, fort bend, has turned blue since 2016. This time there were democrat judges running unopposed. Fort bend is southwest of Houston and very diverse.

I think if TX was to get a great governor akin to Desantis it would push them into blowout territories in elections. Abbott has been okay, but could have been stronger on a lot of things.

Great point. Texas would benefit from term limits for Governor. Two governors since 2000 is crazy

I know the politics of Fort Bend county very well.... KP George is a lunatic and criminal. But the county is a prime example of the diversity and immigration Texas has seen which has brought in democrat politics to a place that historically had been red.

The blue influences on Texas come from the large number of young people who are in Texas. After spending 4 years indoctrinated in their major of Ancient Greeks Who Were Misgendered at Birth they find themselves unemployable at anything beyond writing your name on a coffee cup and ree-reeing over how much Republicans and men are oppressing them.

The transplants I know are red voters all the way— “I don’t want Texas to go the way of California”

There ya go! If you can’t beat em, cheat em.

Y’all could also try updating your antiquated platform instead of suppressing voters who don’t agree with you.

We just left Texas driving back to God's country in Alabama!! Lots of Kamala/Tim signs there. Still think they're a R lock though...at least for now.

How is cleaning up voters rolls cheating?

Not sure if you’re being cheeky or just daft, but it’s a method to suppress votes by unregistering people who’d otherwise be eligible to cast their ballot.

How many were removed that shouldn't have been? How many were removed that should have been? How many of those erroneously removed were not allowed to re-register or fill out a provisional ballot?

Neither.

It’s not Blue. Never has been.

It suffers from voter complacency sometimes. Outside of Austin and some border counties, it’s all RED.

In years like 2024, where people know 2020 was bullshite, you are going to find out just how RED Texas is.

Maybe some people will move to Texas because it is red. Every election the Ds spend a ton of money here to get it purple/blue. I have no idea how Cruz will do tomorrow. I've gotten a bunch of panicky fund raising messages and email from the Cruz organization. Anybody have a poll?

Ah, so it’s okay because all they have to do is re-register. I guarantee if you were erroneously removed from the voter rolls you’d be singing a different tune.

Also, if someone doesn’t check to make sure they weren’t erroneously purged, then they may not find out until Election Day.

Complete opposite for Georgia. You can't take one step without tripping over a she/her who moved here from Cali or Minnesota.

Fortunately the latins in the valley are becoming increasingly more conservative to offset these liberals in the cities. Bear in mind they used to be reliably blue. No more.

They have, and it's pretty even IIRC. They just migrate to different parts of TX, so certain types of CA transplants will be more noticeable in different areas.

Not sayin it's going to happen soon but the trend is moving that way for sure.

You do realize this isn’t what much of the actual data shows don’t you?

When Beta was running against Cruz there were more first time new residents who voted for Cruz and the majority of Beta’s support came from multi-vote (read long term) Texans.

Ya if I recall, first generation immigrants were also more red than later ones. Basically, it was the kids of the immigrants that were Democrats. It's a lot more nuanced than the board describes it. "ALL LIBS MOVInG to AUSTIN!"

Texas has been cleaning it up and prosecuting cheaters but even our Hispanics and transplants vote majority red.
