He might want to get his people to stop bombing the tubes if he wants to be able to promote the safety for other transportation methods over Uber.

the regs on london cabs are INSANE. i'm mostly shocked Uber was ever licensed in the first place

“Uber’s approach and conduct demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility” in relation to reporting serious criminal offences, obtaining medical certificates and driver background checks. The licensing body also said it was concerned by Uber’s use of Greyball, software that can be used to block regulatory bodies from gaining full access to its app and undertaking regulatory or law enforcement duties.
isn't this part and parcel of living in a big city?

Trying to protect the jobs of Muslim cab drivers?

One only need to look at the demographics of the London boroughs of Hackney, Lewisham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and Newham to see where London is headed. Churchill must be rolling over in his grave to see what spineless cowards his countrymen have become. The only people over there who genuinely seem to care about saving their country are soccer hooligans and the English Defence League.

They aren't. To be a Black Cab driver is very grueling test. You literally have to learn every street on the map. Check out on youtube for the test. I mainly used the tube or Uber there, but my last day I opted for a Black Cab. It was pricey but I had a great conversation with a local there.
yeah their cabbies are legit
however, it's kind of an unnecessary burden these days with apps that direct you to locations
this is literally a Luddite squeal

It's absurd this is being cloaked as a safety measure

yeah "safety" is the "catch all" for authoritarians
i just watched a documentary about online poker last night and, of course, when the feds stepped in it was all about "safety"

maybe people will in London get off their arse and vote with their brains instead of their feelings from now on. Play stupid games.

Isn't this the same guy who said we should accept terrorist attacks as a way of life.

Completely forgot about that.

I’m not going to speculate as to how the police in New York should react. What I do know is part and parcel of living in a great global city is you gotta be prepared for these things, you gotta be vigilant, you gotta support the police doing an incredibly hard job, you gotta support the security services. And I think speculating, when you don’t know the facts, is unwise.
