I called the ventura county health officials and they seemed blindsided by that press conference. They kept telling me it would be voluntary. I asked if they were hiring the number of contact tracing 'agents' they specified. They said yes. I asked if they had housing to even do the removals. The said yes, they would be placing people in vacant hotels.
I do not believe them when they say they were blindsided by the mandatory announcement. They clearly have been planning for this occasion.
One thing that made me happy was the lady said they had been getting tons of calls about the subject so theres some solace that people are enraged and waking up.
It wont stop the coming flood however.
