in court multiple times on this very point of fact.
and still the motivation remains the enabling of disabling behavior.

Enabling disabling behavior in order to encourage dependency is often racist.

Please quote the section of the Constitution that states that, specifically.

what section of the constitution specifically discusses voting and the regulations of that act?

pretty sure the primary statement only lists these qualities:

quote:

shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude

It's weird that some people think a 400% APR on the poorest among us is okay, because someone profits.

so is that a "yes" response?

There's no enabling of disabling behavior (is that a new talking point or did you come up with that overseas in Canada? )

What there is (with documented proof) is targeted discrimination against minorities under the name of voter ID laws.

14th Amendment.

You really didn't know that? Wow. Just...wow. The ignorance on here astonishes anew every day!

within these discussions, how can we separate the concepts of SES and race? what other factors can we separate?

I think you can and you can't, considering the proportion of each race that live at low SES compared to others.

Equal protections clause, unless you're saying that voter ID laws aren't laws and aren't deserving of equal protection.

Voter ID laws strip certain citizens (minorities largely) of their rights without cause.

Have you seriously never heard of the equal protection clause? Wow, maybe read the Constitution today. It's a good day for it!!

Of course there is.
Socialists don't want dependent indigents to access ID.

If you all did, it would happen.

ID is one step toward leaving the dependency camp.

How about not projecting any stereotypes onto anyone. much less of a person of another race than yours.

Start there.

any regulation on any part of voting destroys perfect equal protection. i hope that's not your entire argument

Since all your padnuhs ran off like bitches without answering these questions, maybe you can.

I'll ask you the same thing.

How do they drive? How do they buy cigs and alcohol? How do they fly? How do they open bank accounts? How do they get medicine? How do they go to the casino? How do they rent a hotel room?

Why are you so racist you think that minorities can't and won't obtain a state issued ID card? Which is free in many places, and has avenues for it to be cheaper for poor folk in others?

No they don't. Unless you are so racist that you think minorities are too stupid to obtain a free ID.

Why do you hate black people so much?

Not if it has equal impacts. It's always fun when you pretend like you don't understand simple concepts...or are you pretending today? Maybe you just don't remember?

You have it backward. Why are you so racist that you think it's okay for legislators to place roadblocks to obtaining ID cards the specifically impact minorities more than whites? Why is that okay with you? Do you not like citizens voting, or do you enjoy winning elections because of it?
