To be fair, the whole live action remake thing with Disney started because of Maleficent and they did the story from the villain's point of view so at least it was somewhat original.

Then they realized they could make a shite ton of money with live action remakes and started remaking everything.

Ice hockey and the Little Mermaid were our last bastions of whiteness.

It’s over. We are toast.

Pretty girl.
Assuming she's a good actress, I have ZERO problem with that casting.
None at all.

Leave it to the Poli Board to bring racial discussions into a Disney film about a half woman half fish that lives underwater.

She reminds me of 1990's Janet Jackson.

I loved me some 90's JJ

You might have a problem detecting sarcasm.

But what will be really funny is when they put a bright red wig on her and make her look "whitewashed". That's when the real melting will begin.

I'm very concerned that Ariel will drown in this remake. Its clear she can't swim even with the Mermaid tail.

The guy said the mermaid changes as society progresses, I’m just trying to figure out why “progress” is going from white to black.

Lol. Love leftist hypocrisy

This casting is a great example of shite no one would have given a frick about until liberals started losing their goddamn minds every time somebody was cast in a role that didn't exactly match whatever it was previously cast as

Of course the liberals will disingenuously scream whataboutism now but that's pretty chance because they know they started this shite

Yes. There is a lot of risk in doing something original.

It's too easy to just remake these movies as a live action, Broadway play.

I don't like it but it's hard to blame them. Easy money.
