Sorry - I still think it's overblown. And maintained that since day 1.

Dems downplayed it because they wanted to bash Trump as a racist.

Reps downplayed it because they knew Dems would use it to crush economy.

You spelled overplayed wrong. They're still overplaying it now.

It absolutely was overblown.

I don't disagree.

But there was no class of people downplaying it, while another class of people hyped it up. Everyone downplayed it early on.

Some people actively downplayed it and directly stated it was being overblown to hurt Trump politically. Those people are morons.

Absolutely.

The media (all channels) overplayed it though because they gained viewers...and those viewers kept coming back because they were afraid.

They do that with every situation, be it a shooting, hurricane, tornado, etc.

Yes. In March. Not in January or February.

Saying that the response was overblown will be the new attack on Trump. They will say the Governors and states only went off the Federal guidelines titled “President Trump’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America”. That the executive branch, with the national experts and CDC did this.

Book it.

I agree that will be their strategy. But everyone from the Who to Fauci did the same thing.

However, when there are less than 50,000 deaths nationwide it will be a fizzle and will come out a victory for Trump.

Trump was the only voice taking it seriously from the beginning and nobody listened. Dems act like this isn't true.

But he never treated it like it was going to be a pandemic. And it's not. It's just a slightly worse flu.

As usual he's been right from the beginning but crucified for it.

Thought it would be closer to the flu. But a little worse.

What do I win?

You’d lose. You can’t claim “this isn’t that bad” when the country has been shut down for a month and It’s successful

Hard to get the projections right when China was both hiding info and lying about the info it DID release.

Had pretty good data from other countries in February.

Many people on this forum called and stated why, but the "scientist" and "experts".

And the WHO is playing goalie for the CCP.

If the OP is right (and everyone underplayed it), the MSM is showing their arse to the world by only going after Trump and Republicans.

It's pretty much 5-10 x H1N1. That's it. No one saw that coming I don't care who you are. That being said, it's not that big a deal to shut down the whole fricking country over it. I barely even remember H1N1.

I think the travel ban saved tens of thousands of lives. Looking back, it was pretty amazing that he pulled the trigger as early as he did considering how so many of the Democratic Leaders were against it.
