We keep seeing these quotes and gotchas about people joking about it, comparing it to the flu, saying it was exaggerated, etc., etc.

No one, that I have seen, is innocent. Trump, Fauci, Biden, Schumer, Pelosi, Cuomo, diBlasio, media people from Clay Travis to CNN talking heads, did this early on.

I know I certainly did (and still do, TBH).

Edit: Added the WHO to the underplayed list.

People should just acknowledge that this caught everyone off guard. No one was prepared for this, or took it serious enough early on.

I think we can all rally around one thing though, and that's frick China.

If they had been honest in the beginning, the people I mentioned above would likely have taken it more serious early on.

Everyone should have known it was coming here eventually, and would be widespread

The Panic was the factors that were unknown

If you want honesty you came to the wrong place.

Most people on this board are just as delusional as liberals and progressives.

Exactly. They should be on the list too.

I'll add them.

GTFO bootlicker. It was overblown then and it’s certainly still overblown now. People are tiring of the bs now.

ETA: The down voters are the weakest links.

You’re more likely to die from heat exhaustion than the Chinese virus.

It absolutely was overblown.

Let’s not forget everyone parroting statements of “hundreds of thousands dead”.

I still distinctly remember all of the threads that appeared when that one individual got on the news and stated that “500,000 Americans were going to die”.

That was a lot of fun.

From the beginning, panic was the one thing that would impact us more than anything, and I believe I was right.

We did not take a rational approach to this situation.

We heard massive numbers of dead and we panicked.

Not like it matters now anyway.

Some people actively downplayed it and directly stated it was being overblown to hurt Trump politically. Those people are morons.
