Sure thing bro, have you figured out how we will make about 6000 products that are not fuels from fossil based petroleum? I’m sure you have that figured out right genius? You know like synthetic fibers, drugs, roads, shingles and over 6000 other things.

I get frustrated. It sucks that I’m this shitty political climate you either have to deny that man made climate change is even possible, or believe that we’re all going to be underwater in 50 years. You know it’s possible that humans are accelerating global warming, but that every tropical storm or record hot month isn’t caused by it

People are so fricking retarded

What about the other 99% in this thread who deny man-made climate change?

Nevermind. I agree with this

All vote Republican. Proving the original message in this thread.

ETA. No different than Democrats to be fair. You are ostracized if you doubt man's contribution to climate change.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize you can reduce consumption of fossil fuels while still using it for things that can’t be made without. Have you ever considered thinking critically?

Why don’t you be honest? The only reason you accept man made climate change is because you hate poor people.

On April 28, 1975, Newsweek published a provocative article, “The Cooling World,” in which writer and science editor Peter Gwynne described a significant chilling of the world’s climate, with evidence accumulating “so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it.” He raised the possibility of shorter growing seasons and poor crop yields, famine, and shipping lanes blocked by ice, perhaps to begin as soon as the mid-1980s.

Meteorologists, he wrote, were “almost unanimous” in the opinion that our planet was getting colder.

Most do not deny climate change. Climate change is a real thing. It happens naturally. Man made climate change is nonsense.

However, we should be seeking renewable energy and moving away from fossil fuels because 1) renewable energy is a net good for society and 2) fossil fuels are finite so we will have to do this eventually anyway.

Progressives pretend to cry about man-made climate change. It is a smokescreen for global welfare.

My man Nguyener! Always writing exactly what I'm thinking.

Spot-on, once again. Your presence has directly contributed to my lack of contribution to this website the past few weeks. Why do we need to speak when you speak for all of us?

I guess you were high during economics, if you take away fossil fuel revenue to offset drilling and productions costs all of those things would go up about 10x in price, they are all biproducts, god you are so stupid.

Fossil fuels have done an immense amount of good for the world. Oil and gas have greatly improved quality of life, increased economic productivity, have made traveling to visit friends and family across vast expanses around the world both possible and affordable, have rendered possible the ability to leave earth and explore the solar system and universe, and have increased the lifespan of billions. Oil and gas and the internal combustion engine is arguably one of the most important innovations since the Enlightment era and it continues to support life on this planet, enabling it to thrive and improve. It has also benefited American entrepreneurs and workers and has allowed us to become self sufficient.

This is not say that this doesn't come with an environmental cost. We should look to understand what it is, look to manage it, and explore alternative sources of energy insofar as they become economically viable. But we should have context... slowing down economic growth leads to increased human suffering, lower quality of life globally, and reduced prosperity domestically.

This is a complex issue that most are not mature enough or intellectually capable of trying to understand.

I reject the idea that humans contribute significantly to changes in Earth's climate, and a certainly reject the idea that humans can reverse or alter the course of the climate with the abilities we currently possess.

I am for regulations on pollution/emissions from various industries, including baseline goals for improvements in emissions into the future. I am against draconian regulation born of the idea that destroying one industry or another will save the planet from boiling over, and I reject the idea that climate related taxation on industry and citizens is anything more noble than a power and money grab.

Maybe we need a kick in the arse to get off of our plastic dependency. It's obvious we have little interest in Mass recycling.
