I’m not gunna lie, I’m very very extremely online, and this is the first I’ve heard about leftist “siding with hedge funds.”
The very most I’ve seen is some super left people saying “I’m a communist I do not care about the stock market at all.”
Everyone else - all political views - are absolutely loving the rich douche bags losing their asses because they short sold 140% of a stock.

Some funds do a great moral service short selling. For example Muddy Waters exposed the great Chinese stock scam in the 2010s. Chinese companies were cooking the books. Muddy Waters sent over their people to visit and investigate these Chinese companies in China and they were not cracked up to what they were being sold as in the US. They communicated the message to investors then shorted these Chinese fraud companies. Done the right way short selling provides a valuable service.
But on the other hand short selling to manipulate a stock price to zero of an otherwise good company is wrong.

I think we can. This is the only place I've seen otherwise, actually, and even here there are only a few dissenters. Everywhere else people are just enjoying the show where the little guys, for once, are clowning the elites. It's beautiful

Explain why a clear/overwhelming majority of the Uber-wealthy spent a ton of money and threw the power of their businesses behind the effort to elect Biden.
