What’s the difference in Colorado?
”GBI” is not defined in the statutes, and a VERY cursory search does not reveal any case law

But the RSIs tell us that the legislature would have used SBI in the self-defense statute, if they intended it to mean the same thing.

The point is that he MIGHT have been in reasonable fear, if “something” blew up in his face, even if it turns out later that this “something” was not particularly dangerous, objectively.

Much like it MIGHT be reasonable to use deadly force against someone who pointed an Airsoft at you (with the orange tip removed). He ain’t killing you with an Airsoft, but YOU do not know that.

Are we going to repeat this childishness again every weekend?

I am also playing Minecraft with my daughters. At the moment, we are trying to rescue bunnies from a non-domesticated fox.

You are 100% correct.

You will also note that I am catching flak for correcting an erroneous statement of the law, despite the fact that I have taken NO position on this shooting ... simply because they do not LIKE the shooter. Ergo, the actual law does not really matter to them.

Put your daughter on the line, maybe she’ll provide better input to the discussion

You can gaslight this all you want, the only reason you’re “catching flak” is because youre trying to shoehorn pepper spray into the great bodily harm definition

I have not researched Colorado law, so I do not know.

Neither have you and neither do you. But you are quite willing to express an opinion. I wonder why?

Just getting your rules of engagement on the books.

Hm, you posted the Colorado statute and bolded “great bodily harm” and are now crawfishing it, saying you don’t in fact know the law.

I wonder why?

"We" might (probably) don't like the victim, either... who cares? It could be two Antifa guys shooting each other... the point is wherever Antifa goes there is violence and confrontation.

Contrast that with basically any Trump, patriot, or "right-wing" rally and there is no comparison.

A skateboard can in fact inflict great bodily harm by splitting your skull open.

I have to admit I am impressed with the media’s ability to completely ignore Antifa violence, even when it seems impossible.

Throwing out “Private security guard” so now it’s “debunked conspiracy” and not antifa violence is evil genius level of information control.

I sometimes wish I was on the left, it must be so nice to have everything confirmed to your worldview at all levels (tech, media, entertainment, education, etc)

Getting hit In the head with the metal trucks on a skate board can absolutely without a shadow of a doubt kill someone.

Getting sprayed with mace will not kill you.

And I think the victim is an idiot. Don’t start shite won’t be shite. Simple as that.

Haven’t read through the whole thread - has the shooter been arrested and charged with murder yet?

Shooter appears he's going to be in a heap of trouble. No way he can make a DA believe he feared for his life when there was ample time to discern that the victim had a can of spray in his hand and not a deadly weapon.

This is why it is so difficult to have a conversation with so many of you zealots. You think you are a bloody genius, but you do not even understand that you are asking the WRONG DAMNED QUESTION.

It DOES NOT MATTER whether the spray was objectively deadly or near-deadly. The QUESTION was whether having SOMETHING blow up in his face placed the guy in reasonable fear

Hell, you probably STILL do not understand the distinction AFTER it has been explained to you.
