It doesn't even matter what our relationship is with them. She broke their laws and confessed. She is getting the punishment she deserves by their laws. Why should she get special treatment just because she plays basketball? Frick them both.
I know you are not implying she should get special treatment but it pisses me off that so many of the idiots on the left think she should because she is a "sports celebrity".
Imagine thinking you are an oppressed minority in this country but then turn around and expect the US government to rush to free you from a foreign prison for laws that you broke. Is that what a truly oppressed person would think would happen?

Why would anyone, athlete or not, think that “America has (their) back” when they have blatantly broken the laws of another country? How damned entitled would you have to feel to think such a thing?
