Switch to a different currency (new currency). Print a quadrillion dollars and pay off all debt with dollars that are now worth less than the paper they are printed on.
China left holding the bag. Trump shrugs and smiles.

By keeping the economy viable as well as repaying folks who had their jobs destroyed to handle the virus. The economy at healthy levels generate tax revenues which in turn sends the monies given out on the bill back to the government. One props up the other and must stay in a continual flow. Since the normal flow was disrupted, the reservoirs have to be opened up to re-establish a workable flow again.
I have given many real life examples of practical and pragmatic comparisons the past few days...bottom line is that this is a crisis we were not prepared for all in all...can't catch everything that crops up before it happens. We can learn from this moving forward, but I am not casting blame on who is responsible for getting caught a bit flat footed over this. shite happens. I do think the reaction has been a bit extreme...bottom line however is we absolutely can't let the economy collapse. That has far reaching ramnifications.

You'll be dead before it's paid for, let that sink in.

They are handing out your grandchildren's and great grandchildren's money. Everybody seems to be happy when their congressperson sends home some "pork" to their district. It usually doesn't occur to them that in order for Congress to have pork to distribute they have to have pigs to butcher. You are just one of the farmers whose property is being "requisitioned" for "the good of the Country".
Your Children Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will be saddled with the cost of this handout and they will remember who it was that was so happy to provide them with that inheritance.

Inflation and a reduced standard of living for wage earners.

"We" don't. Our children, grandchildren, and/or great grandchildren will.

We pass the bill on to our kids and their kids in the same irresponsible way a Spring Break Party Boy now passes Covid-19 to his grandfather.
We don't care!
In terms of cost and attitude, here's a related example of the irony:
Zeke Emanuel is credited as an architect of Obamacare. He is a pro-socialized medicine creep who lauded NHS death panels. His rationale was old people are not productive cogs in society anyway, so let them pass on. They are simply not worth the expense. Emanuel said 75y/o's should not receive heroic measures to save their lives because those measures cost too much.
Libs praised Emanuel for his "wisdom".
They kowtowed to his ability to promote communist-care in seemingly appeasing ways. They celebrated his efforts.
NOW, ALL OF THE SUDDEN, Dr. Death Panel has done an about face. Zeke says we should willingly crush our economy (until November) in order to save some those old people he previously was willing to let die. He says economic ruin is our duty.
It's almost like the POS is playing politics under the mantra of being a doctor.
