Is there a Car-Jacking Lobby? Who is fighting for lower sentences for violent crime?

Petty drug possessions I understand. But who is out here fighting for car-jackers?

If she doesn’t like it, it must be good for the city.

But in a statement issued late Tuesday, Cantrell offered her first hint of public criticism toward Landry since he took office, focusing on the 17 bills being considered during the special session. "We have concerns that much of the proposed legislation does not effectively address crime at its root causes and could impact how we go about our everyday lives," said Cantrell, adding that the measures would “set our city back from the progress we have made in reducing crime and can put our residents, visitors and all law enforcement personnel at further risk.” Cantrell did not specify which bills she was referring to or detail how they would have the effects she described. Her administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Bills up for consideration would restrict opportunities for parole, sentence reductions and good-behavior early releases for state inmates. Another would make many juvenile offender records public.

She's a piece of shite.

She’s a criminal herself. It’s only natural she doesn’t want to eliminate crime.

Well, there’ll need to be a study done on that. She’ll have to appoint a committee. Might take 10-12 years.

No gif exists which can properly relay the amount of hysterical laughter this statement has extracted from me.

We were assured all would be right if we just got rid of those damn racist statues

No we weren’t. I’m in favor of Landry’s efforts to attack crime by taking control from the feckless city administrators, and I was in favor of removing statues honoring men who fought for human bondage in an era in which all thinking men and women knew it was wrong.

They tore down some statues that they should not have, but such is the way of revolutionary acts.

frick that crazy jackal and everyone who believes her shite. SWB will be using every excuse to blame Landry for any BS that continues in BTR. We need to show the thugs how ugly it will get if they want to keep up their hoodrat life. Time for the to learn about FAFO

Once a City, or any area cares more about the criminal than the victim they become a hell hole.

Crazy, because those voters have more victims than criminals but they identify with their nephew who beats elderly people than their grandmother who takes beatings.

Never understood the protection juveniles get when it comes to committing violent crimes. Release their names & their charges. Whether they murder at 15 or 21 is irrelevant.

Also, Landry is a mean vindictive mfker. Teedy should just shut the frick up if she knows what’s good for her.

Too bad. She had her chance. She even got to go first. Whatever she/the city has been doing (if anything) isn't working.

Now Landry/ the state gets a chance.

If you fail at something, you forfeit the right to criticize somebody that wants to have a shot.
